The democrats are in kangaroo court territory though. They read testimony from sexual assault survivors on the Senate floor last night. That has what, exactly, to do with this case? If I'm accused of murder, it's acceptable for people who suffered from completely unrelated murders to give anguished testimony of what they felt when somebody else committed a crime against their loved one? That's the textbook definition of character assassination. It's manipulation of emotions with evidence completely unrelated to the case at hand. Unbelievable. Speaking as a "Bernie Bro," so defined by the same group of classless people, I'm of sick of it. I'll never vote for Trump, but where is the alternative? I won't vote on policy alone. Show me a shred of integrity, if you have any left.

Susan Collins was right. If the political shenanigans and despicable tactics were out of this, it would look different.

But witness testimony IS evidence that we are allowed to consider. That is all I'm saying. All this 'no evidence' is incorrect when it comes to Ford.

Witness testimony was the evidence. I believed her. You believed him. That's our right.

There was no photo evidence of Franken abusing anyone sexually. None.
There is a larger point, which Collins framed skillfully.

We simply do not know what would have happened had the letter not been leaked. Most assume that the Democrats would have eventually used it to some advantage. This may well be right although that is an unknown and an unproven. Certainly some (various interest groups etc.) were prepared to aggressively oppose the Kavanaugh nomination.

Feinstein had not distributed the letter to fellow Democrats. The publication that leaked it said she was not the leaker. Both Collins and Graham say they believe her denials. On September 6, Feinstein did not even attend a confidential session where Senators had the opportunity to ask Kavanaugh sensitive questions.

Once leaked, the letter led (in part because of Republican efforts) to the hearing at which point Ford's testimony became evidence. Certainly not enough to "convict" Kavanaugh, absolutely. From that point on, Democrats hitched their horse to the Ford narrative. Republicans did not attempt to suppress Ford's testimony (on the contrary) but criticized Democrats for withholding evidence, playing politics (not bringing forward the letter until after the leak).

Collins' point was that the Senate process became a mockery after the leak, with a statement that the Senate must prevent future occurrences. And reexamine the confirmation process to prevent unwarranted attacks on nominees. For that the parties must work together.

Collins' speech was impressive with her tone dispassionate and delivery well measured. She set forward the principal of innocent until proved quilty and defended that well. But her ire and indignation was directed towards the leaker, at least as I recall (only viewed it once).

Graham has said that he does not believe any of Ford's friends leaked it, that they would not so betray her. Maybe yes, maybe not. Some look to Monica McClean's role.

Default C. Ford NOT a credible witness.......

It's sickening to see talking heads just casually toss out what a "credible" witness Ford is. In truth she would be laughed out of any PD station in the land. She doesn't know where a supposed attack happened 36 years ago or when, can't figure out how she got there or back home. Kavanaugh was appointed to a court position in 2003 by Bush and she never said a word. The kicker is EVERY ONE of her supposed witnesses denies any knowledge of the incident. And right there she should have been shown the door and advised to not come back.

Her 15 year old squeaky voice was ridiculous for a Dr, but she seems to have fooled the dim ones of the left. In truth she coached people on how to pass polygraph tests. She was an undercover torpedo from the left that almost worked, thanks to the cover of the "me too" movement.

All in all a disgusting time for the USA where we look like a 3rd world banana republic.

One does wonder how a man who never made as much as $200k in salary any year wound up with a net worth of $10 million. How Did Reid Get Rich

Uh huh. Yea. The missing 8 years of " public service" documents during which time a thing about circulating pornography through government or private emails on govt server..led to someone's firing....

And the pesky long line of " evidence" the Republicans said didn't exist...so they wouldnt look at or speak to or about such inconvenience s to Susan Collins s' jumping on the highway to hell.

I would assume it’s normal for anyone charged with anything to call friends asking for corroborating statements. What matters is whether or not they tell them what to say - you know, suborning perjury, also known as making things up.
Monica McClean did that; you've been focusing on her and that's kind of interesting. Didn't you also speculate that she may have leaked the letter? Someone did.

No idea what you’re talking about. This must have been in with the reports of gang rapes.

Also, the fact that others held the info and then "leaked" it at a very convenient time does not mean Ford made it up to be used as a ploy. A more thourough investigation would have helped those who had more questions and weren't on a party "team." A good many Americans are independent and were not in a rush to judge either way.
By Monday 10/1/2018, part of the interview with Mr. Judge had been conducted. That interview was completed on Tuesday 10/2/2018:

Nothing of that really affects you unless you are a member of the donor class. Unemployment is fake, Trump told us that repeatedly. Its really 40%. Not record low.

Why would corporate judges be good for working stiffs like yourself? It means you and people like you have zero chance of running for office and win because you have to beg the billionaire class for money. Whats so great about that?
