I had no idea that was the case until I looked into murder statistics for femicide in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I found a study that showed the murder rate in Ciudad Juarez was four times as high for men as women. A little more research showed that was the case almost everywhere else in the world too.

Men are overwhelmingly the perpetrators of violence. But it's a big step to say men never feel fear in strange situations. When I was a little older than Christine Ford, I suffered broken bones from assaults not once, but twice, and the second time, suffered shock and other debilitating physical effects from fear for months.

Just another data point to add to your world view, ignore, or explain away. Best.
Ok. Is it men killing other men or women killing men? Women killing men would be apples to apples. IF not; it's not an appropriate comparison.

We've come to expect political smearing during the electoral process and in the executive and legislative branches. Both political parties participate; no innocents. That the SCOTUS remain reasonably politically inviolate is a principal. It is the Court of final appeal; justices have lifelong appointments removing them from the political fray. (That's not to say that Judges do not have known interpretations of the Constitution nor existing case law.)

Parties at least in modern times have generally adhered to a commonly accepted set of principals of what might disqualify a potential nominee. Sure, there remains room for the political - maybe starting with Bork in recent decades. Both parties agree (or have) that a judge's writings disqualify him if they express sentiments now at odds with basic American standards.

During the turn of the previous century some nominee was voted down for being an outright segregationist. For Bork, Kennedy presented a case that convinced the Senate that Bork's previous writings met the standard of some unacceptability. Republicans disagreed, saying that Borks' words were distorted. Dunno ... a long time ago.

But the same respect that is accorded to the Court (a standard high enough that the politics of smear should NOT be used - which is WHY Graham etc. reacted with such vehemence) might also be applied to how Kavanaugh responded to various senators seemingly spouting conspiracy theories.

He (or his defenders) tried to defend his behavior saying his state of mind was understandable and that the first hearing was for the judicial assessment. That's nonsense. Just as the Ford-Kavanaugh hearing was not a "job interview" nor was it a therapy session.

Now did what Kavanaugh say cross any of the lines traditionally considered as disqualifying? Frankly, I don't know. Regardless, the vote was largely political with many of the resulting talking points and spin simply that - a play for popular opinion.

Plan "b" ? Who said that?

Kavenaugh announced his vendetta for the world to see the rage and hear his declaration of intent to seek revenge. As did Lindsey Graham.
Both know what they 've done. That is why they are so paranoid, shouting at ghosts.
If Kav properly recuses himself when any matters come before the court where any democrat is involved then he can stay.
If he carries out his threat of " what goes around comes around" then he needs to go.
Like POTUS is already starting his " gossip" and " innuendo" about having dirt on "certain" democrats....the vindictive bunch are in power, baby.

No they didn't. Not even close.

The majority of the country see's this for what it is. A raging Democrat hit job from some of the more violent and intolerant elements of the Democrat party, and enabled by one of the most corrupt underhanded Democrat senators out there.

The woman wasn't credible, her backers even less credible, and the MSM now has egg all over it's face. And as usual, it self destructed by it's own critical mass when the others, even less credible, piled on. Even CNN admits it was nothing but a big mess.

And now more moderate Democrats are horrified for where it went. And now today, that perennial leftist, Bill Maher is even back tracking even saying that, amazingly, that Trump was right. When he's confirmed, expect at least 1 or 2 of them to vote for confirmation.

Another leftie trick to throw a monkey wrench in the process

No one wins with all of this crap.

Kavanaugh loses

Ford Loses

The Senate loses (Some Senators more than others) But they all lose

The Supreme Court loses (From now on, there will always be rest anything that Kavanagh decides---It's 25 years and Thomas is still vilified)

The American people lose

This has been a massive FUBAR

Maybe it's their constituents who don't have the capacity for logic and rational thought. They are the ones who fell asleep during Senator Collins fantastic speech yesterday, yet are back shouting nonsense in the faces of Senators today!

BTW - who was it that said "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it"?
