The kind of guy who brings a bone saw to a meeting with a journalist is Trump's kind of guy.

Benghazi is well known as well.
We did nothing about it.

What is bullsh*t was your claim that we LET Israel kill those folks. That was a total lie - as was your BS claim that we LET Libyans kill our folks at Benghazi.
Those incidents happened, but we didn't LET them happen.

Saudis 2 weeks ago: "Khashoggi walked out unharmed."

Turks: "We have evidence he has tortured, murdered, and chopped into pieces."

Last week: "Uh, we'll investigate ourselves, OK?"

Now: "He got into a fistfight with our 15 intel guys and was accidentally killed."

tRump:

"I love the Saudis. They pay me millions and hundreds of millions!"

Technically the Saudi consulate is Saudi soil, so the international community really has no jurisdiction to demand what happened there. As bad as it is, that's the nature of an embassy or consulate and diplomatic immunity.

In fact even if Saudis with diplomatic credentials gunned him down in the middle of the street in Turkey, they would still have diplomatic immunity.

Sooooo, now the Sauds and Turks seem to be negotiating some sort of payoff where the evidence never gets made public.

That leaves the US in a pickle where we can't prove anything without ticking off both the Turks and the Sauds, especially if the Sauds concoct a story, pin it on some "bad actors" that were only supposed to question the guy and then he had a heart attack and they panicked....and the Turks nod their heads and say yep, that's what happened.

What exactly do we do in that situation?
For starters, the American President could call a halt to his bromances with MBS and Erdogan. Not to mention the other murderous despots that Trump expresses such personal warmth for.

It’s one thing to think that the US has to deal with the reality that our increasingly linked interests around the world require that we deal with some real *******s. It’s another thing to *admire* them.

MBS will privately execute some fall guys, compounding the original crime, and Trump will continue to kiss his butt in public. And the Saudis will continue to support Trump’s business ventures. And American taxpayers will continue to subsidize huge arms deals with the Saudis, unless Congress grows a moral spine.

Mohammed bin Salman is probably already gone. There are reports that the Royal family is looking to replace him. He has arrested the members of the hit team.

Turkey is threatening to go public with the information

Saudi Arabia cannot just dismiss Khashoggi case: Erdo

Just like everything else about this upside down administration, Old Gringo, this murder is a joke. We all know what happened here. The Prince and King wanted to send a message to anyone else who goes against them, so they set up this elaborate hit, killed him, and disposed of the body. They figured, "Big deal, we whack people every day, that is what we do here, and no one dares to question us."

Then the blowback of public outrage started and they realized "Oh, sh**, this ain't gonna be good for us ! So they came up with this story that they had no involvement and that they had fired a bunch of people and arrested a bunch more. Oh sure, they arrested a bunch, they arrested the very people they had hired and will cut their heads off as a public display, and to silence them.

And, true to his inept nature, Donald Trump is very non committal on the whole deal, even his own party is saying "WTF !" and some of them are vowing to not let it go that easy. When a weasel like Lindsay Graham questions the President, you know this thing smells to high Hell.

lol....and there it is....this is just all about Trump(R) for you.

It's embarassing to see my fellow Americans so poorly educated and ill-informed suddenly caring just because of politics when we've been in bed with these guys and DOING WORSE OURSELVES for decades and decades.

Heck, you probably don't even know Saudia Arabia is a non-democratic MONARCHY. YOu probably thought "prince" was his first name....
