“A three-year review of a social media profile would give an easy profile of a person who is not suitable to hold and possess a fire arm,” Adams explains.

The two are hoping to identify any hate speech on social media profiles, which are often revealed only after someone is arrested in a mass shooting.

who will get to decide what is 'hate speech'? what if someone (honestly) states that they don't use social media- will they be believed?

Well considering these shooters said some stuff that was way out there before they went off on their spree says something.

This however all boils down to two facts that gun control proponents
have not been able to address:

(1) There is a direct relationship between restrictive gun control laws and increased crime. Almost all gun control laws have been statistically proven to be linked to increases in crime.

(2) Criminals by definition do not obey the law. Using a firearm to harm another is already illegal.
Proponents might want to spend more time thinking about the facts, and less time writing about feelings that won't fix the problem.

Liberals operate from fear, and they’ve got an entire routine about people supposedly shooting family members and not being able to stop criminals, But people who want to take away your rights under the pretense of safety and security are really just laying the groundwork for tyranny !

I think it is a great idea, but I bet half the members on here wouldn't pass.

Good luck with that scheme. Only if we get to do the same background check on political candidates!

Absolutely, then they should also start doing a deep dive into people’s social media and internet search history before they can buy their “medical” marijuana, before buying a car, before buying alcohol, before renting a box truck, before buying kitchen knives. Did I miss anything?

Usually people who are criminals wanna staying out of jail and can easily be caught. Their motive is just survive and make money in illegal ways.

Someone who would be a mass shooter would probably legally own one or live with someone that does. Two things are revealed after they did their dirty work.

Can't stop crime 100%, hell can't stop all mass shooting but the point is spotting the signs that someone is not to be trusted with firearms.

Note, not taking sides as I know it's complex. Just giving my understanding as to why.

Looking into people social media feels sketchy. I feel you on that.

There's a lesson here, if you live in NY and want to own a gun. don't search "Why are NY legislators such idiots?".

I'd probably be denied for not having social media, they would find it suspicious.
