Well, that's entirely rational, but it was an opening to the Trump loyalists to attack this woman, because they fear her, and what she says. They have to disparage her, and that is why they are so worked up and looking for any angle they can to minimize what she says.

It's good to remember when anyone gets this worked up over nothing, she is saying things that they fear. And the people who hate her don't want Americans to have power, they want to remain slavish to an authoritarian regime, and they have their champion in Trump.

Yeah. And she even named them: House, Senate and President. This girl knows her stuff.

3 chambers. None of them being the Judiciary. Something to get worked up over. When you are elected to something that you don't understand and can't identify, that's a problem. When you plan to subvert that body for un-American, anti-human, collectivist-Statist, mass theft? That's something to get worked up over. When your dopey non-brain proposes a Green New Deal featuring a panoply of new taxation, regulation and oppression? That's something to get worked up over.

This has nothing to do with Trump. Only Lexy Occasional-Cortex. She has to be disparaged, not because of fear, but because she is a person whose philosophy goes against the principles of freedom, individualism, liberty, personal responsibility, private property, etc. She has to be disparaged for the same reason we disparage Bernie Sanders. Or Pocahantas. Being an evil envy-driven third-world style collectivist. Really simple. No fear, just contempt. And contempt that is justified, rational, and correct.

That would be none other than Tom Perez, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Granted...nobody ever mistook Tom Perez (or his developmentally arrested daughters, either) for rocket scientists, but there you have it (i.e., what he said, and when he said it.)

I give her a pass on this one.

But some of her other statements give me pause.

Still, she was spot on about New York subsidizing Amazon.

Unlike the Jews escaping the Holocaust, most of the people in the caravan are escaping poverty and environmental violence, not being targeted for their race/religion/ethnicity by their own government. While I understand they come here for a chance to provide for their families away from their poor, gang infested lands, I can see how many citizens, including those who came here legally or are waiting for their turn in the visa line to be angered by illegal immigration in general. Immigration from Latin America has been primarily economic, in the case of those in the Caravan , ms 13 gangs are not considered to be political groups, so I doubt political asylum based on gang persecution would go through. If that's the case then US citizens in south and west side of Chicago where most gang violence take place are eligible to ask for asylum in Canada.

1. They don't. The majority of these migrants are just men seeking better economic opportunities. Very few of them are women and children.

2. All of the men in the caravan that have been interviewed by reporters have only said that they are seeking work in the US.

3. That leaves a small number of single mothers with children. Being a baby momma is not grounds for asylum. We have enough single mothers in the US. And these women could have also accepted Mexico's offer of work and shelter... which would be much better for them since none of these single mothers speak any English at all.

4. And one young woman interviewed is not running away from violence, but only wants to find her mother living in Texas. Her mother abandoned her years ago to live in the US. But seeking the company of ones mother living in the US (and btw it's a mother who has no interest in seeing her daughter again) is not grounds for asylum either.

It isn't a crime to seek asylum, but it should be if the grounds are completely made up and false.

And it shouldn't be granted at all if one has passed through a country that has offered safe haven and shelter and turned down that offer. And that is international law.

And part of MY outrage is that these waves of migrants cost the US mucho dollars as they tied up our immigration court system with these frivolous and fake claims for asylum... all the while not having prepared for a life in the US since none of them have made any effort to learn our language.

I am not threatened or offended by more "brown people" entering our country so much as they don't speak English, and once in our country, they continue to speak Spanish as their primary language. I don't care what colour anyone's skin is, but for the love of God, at least adopt English as your primary language and make a strong effort to assimilate into American culture. I am sick and tired of working with Central Americans who chatter away in Spanish all day long in the workplace. It's very rude and isolating. So speak English and make an effort to mingle with your co-workers and neighbors while speaking ENGLISH!!!!

And yes, these people cost taxpayers a lot of extra money because of healthcare costs (they are overweight from drinking so much soda because in their home country, they can't drink their tap water) and educating their non-English speaking children at an average cost of $12K per year per student AND they need translators and tutors to catch up to the American students, and that is more taxpayer money. And what about affordable housing for a single parent who can't speak English AND has no job skills?

And that is why I am not wasting any compassion over these line jumping future parasites of America.

Don't sound very humanist to me. In fact you sound BOTH threatened and offended that brown people want to come to the USA and I would hazard a guess that you probably think all the ones here already should be deported.

Most of the immigrants in the US work for a living and pay taxes and still manage to send money back home. Also they have the same rights to send their kids to school as any other US resident. Why does it bother you if they don't speak English since you obviously never tried to talk to any of them? If you did you would find that most of them are very nice folks who happened to be caught in unfortunate circumstances.

AND NO I don't think we should let any anyone who applies for Asylum or that most of the caravan even qualifies under the definition established by congress. Doesn't mean I support the President or agree with the hate on display in this thread.

Ad hominem. You have no argument.
