Limbaugh is the reason we have the lack of discourse that we have nowdays.
Although it's just an act, and he could probably have a rational conversation with somebody privately, all of Limbaugh's dittoheads think it's unpatriotic to do so.
Rush did help move what was left of the so called "deplorables" out of the democratic party and into the republican party. All those people were dems in the prior to the mid '60s.
I have heard Limbaugh since he went national in '88 and he has slowly gotten crazier and more radical as the competition on right wing radio proliferated. Initially he was more mainstream in policy positions. But what he did do from the get go was initiate the personal attacks on democrats. That was new and wasn't tolerated very much in the era of the "fairness" doctrine.

The liberals hating Rush is natural it is called action - re action. Rush spends 3 hours a day bashing liberals and the democratic party non stop. Would there be any other re action then the liberals hating Rush? of course not, it is the same action -re action that the right gets when listening to Maddow?
Both Rush/Maddow know they making a living feeding one side with all that is negative and anything that will shine a bad light on the other side or party. When Rush/Maddow are honest enough to look at their side/party and how they suck they do it with kid gloves. Imagine if both if them went after their side with the sane veracity they have going after the other side?
I at least give Savage some credit he has no problem going against the right and the republican party where Rush is nothing but a cheer leader.

I used to listen to him in the 90s when I was really into talk radio. I liked getting different view points, but at some point I got tired of three hours of how liberals of ruining the country, how they're basically all liars, all socialists and all anything else he could think of. I'd much rather listen to someone talk about topics and how we could all work together instead of it always being Us. V. Them.

Really it's about 15 minutes of liberals ruining the country and 2 hours and 45 minutes of ads, promotions, and hocking garbage on his dumb ass listeners. He was the original political grifter.
