Another serious problem in the realm of proper grammar and other forms of "higher learning" is the inability of many people to place periods at the end of their sentences. Not to mention writing sentences without verbs.
Idk, this seems like just common sense to me! No one likes reading posts that are all caps. It does make the poster seem angry. Kids do not need to be given the impression that teacher is angry when assignments are passed out.

DO NOT project your emotions onto others.
DO try to remain calm and analyze the issue prior to offering an opinion.
Teachers use capitalization like the above to add emphasis to a group that generally has difficulty analyzing exactly what what is required for the assignment.

That's Teaching 101.
Please don't use italics. It implies students are stupid and cannot properly interpret where you're putting the emphasis and might hurt their widdow feewings.

While I can validate your feelings I must note that my use of italics was used to denote a discrete subject. Much the same reason why I italicize The Washington Post when I reference it.
