Curious, what Jewish ethnicity are you?

Ask Megyn Kelly who said Santa and Jesus are white. The Jesus one is entirely false given the area. At best, he is an Israeli who is sorta tan. The OP is a fail in topic, period.

Maybe the town could tell him to reduce the hours and length of time this display is up, and keep the volume down if it is too loud, instead of threatening him with fines. Some kind of compromise with the neighbors instead of all or nothing.

Teaneck is the most Jewish town in Bergen County, but not in all of New Jersey. Lakewood, NJ is.
Many of those synagogues are made into one so couple of homes next door could be tax exempt. You can technically fit all those Jews into 2 or 3 of them.
About 50% of Teaneck and Lakewood’s population is Jewish. Just like Christianity and Islam, there are numerous brands of Judaism. Teanock’s Jewish population tends to be Modern Orthadox ( like the Kushner family). The Jewish population in Lakewood is Orthodox- a very different culture.

I am very aware of the welfare scams that occurred in Lakewood. 2-3 dozen husband/ wives, including a rabbi were arrested and charged with fraud. Some had incomes in excess of $ 1 million. The county/ state established a controversial amnesty program whereby it created the opportunity for in state fraudsters to come forward, pay back in full, plus fines, to avoid prosecution. Last I read, about 175 households in Lakewood came forward and paid back benefits they were granted through fraud.

There’s a similar deal going on in Kiryas Joel, NY. Heck, Israel has a similar challenge with this minority brand of Judahism. The males tend to devote their lives to religious studies and not work. They demonstrate one of the highest fertility rates in the world. There is an expectation that the state is obligated to support their choices.

Most Jewish people tend to well educated and professionally successful and have as much in common with the Orthodox minority as you do.

Regardless, this has nothing to do with the situation in Old Bridge.

Teaneck NJ is the most Jewish city in NJ. It has 17 synagogues. It also has a Muslim mayor and a ban on Sunday shopping.
The ban on Sunday shopping applies to all of Bergen County, and is a legacy of the old blue laws. It's probably the last county in the country to still have them limiting commerce on Sundays.

Of course this resident already paying enormous property taxes in NJ, now the mayor and town officials are asking him to pay to display this. Say goodbye to First Amendment right where people cannot express their freedom of belief unless they pay the town for it. Thankfully he hired a lawyer and I truly hope town officials will now pay him fine for this ridiculous thing!

Oh please, stop being outraged. There is no war on Christmas.

This is not a war on xmas, it's a war on a situation that causes you to need a half hour to back out of your driveway.

It's a war against people who feel that their selfish and self-aggrandizing wants and needs should trump everyone else's rights to safely and peacefully enjoy their own property. And a war against having to foot the bill for the aforementioned ass**** in the form of having their taxes going to pay for the security to ensure he is allowed to continue to infringe on their rights.

There is nothing Christian about his behavior toward his neighbors. In the end he is just another phony Christian. They are an epidemic in this country these days.

Still a few remnants of those laws other places. Can't sell cars here on Sunday.
