What? In comparison has Pelosi and Schumer changed their political party since then and they are still members of congress. Trump wasn't even a politician when the Secure Fence Act was passed in 2006. Geez, talk about grasping at straws and making ridiculous analogies.

A shutdown will result in more wasted money, that has been the case for every shutdown.

Trump slapped them around like the idiots they are. He told everyone that he would take responsibility for their inactions and their love of illegal immigrants over Americans...

Does anyone know if shutting down the government would effect Mueller's investigation, cut off their funds temporarily or something like that?

Every shutdown is ridiculous. This isn't how our government is supposed to work. This is how bratty toddlers behave.
Sadly there are some that believe that the founding fathers actually wanted issues like this in Congress. As I said before my heart goes out to any military and department of defense families effected should this go longer than a weekend like most shutdowns, and actually into a few weeks like the 2013 shutdown. They don't get paid if they are furloughed.

There were some big problems with the 2006 act in construction and ongoing maintenance. If there are specific areas that a solid fence could help that would make sense but I don't see that a lot of thought went into this current proposal.

Was just thinking how poised May looked in her rebuttal of the no-confidence vote.

BIG difference between her way and the orange way.

It is a perfect illustration of how the Don and his minions have destroyed civility in this country. Even top leaders can disagree (elsewhere) and yet they are still decent in their words and in their treatment of each other.

We all remember the maxim about not wanting to see laws of sausage made....it seems the right in this country finally looked at the sausage factory and they don't want to eat the stuff any more!

If they can't handle it they shouldn't look and just eat it up with their eggs in the morning.

May, Macron and Merkel will soon be gone, and with good reason.
If only they listened to Trump's advice.
