“Trump’s best chance for border wall funding at the level he wants came in February 2018, when Republican Senator Mike Rounds teamed up with independent Senator Angus King on compromise immigration legislation.
It included $25 billion over a decade to build a wall along the southern border and a path to citizenship for so-called Dreamers who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children. It also barred green card holders from sponsoring adult children for permanent residency and reoriented enforcement priorities to focus on criminals in the country illegally.”
A whole decade? We need the wall now! Why are they balking at a mere $5 billion now then? We can still focus on the other illegal aliens in this country while not giving the DACAs special treatment. It would be rewarding their parents for bringing them here illegally and the DACAs would also benefit from that if we granted them amnesty and a path to citizenship. We don't need the additional 1.8 million DACAs competing for jobs and resource against Americans either. They need to go back to their homelands with their parents and go through the legal process just like everyone else.
So, if he gets what he wants, then the government will shut down? And if he does not get what he wants (like a spoiled brat) just blame it on Pelosi and Chuck, got it.

Trump is such a FOOL - he can no longer blame the shutting down the government on Chuck and Nancy. They effectively got HIM to admit that he would take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for shutting down the government.

There's the 'master negotiator' right there
And Trump is right to do so! I can't think of a better reason to shut the government down when it's over national security. It's been done before and for far less of a reason. Pelosi and Schumer own this one by dissing national security.

He isn't playing the blame game the way it is to be played. When Obama did a government shut down, he blamed the Republican party. Remember the World War II Vets Cross Memorial Barricades ... Republicans they did that; they caused that grief, according to Obama then and the Democrat party.
So, Donald, to the dismay of the Republican party, owned it. And they're just like ... No! Not suppose to own up to it.
btw: National Security or funding there of ... isn't even on the table. The Wall Is. Wall envy is what I call it. All the cool countries have one. We must have ours, so as to fit in.
