That's what happens when headline writers don't read the story. Volkswagen's last new design gas and diesel engines will start in 2025/26. They'll still be making cars with them for years afterwards.

Wonder how much shipping pollutes ? I'm guessing quite bit, probably more than passenger jets.

Are the richest of the rich trying to kill the electric car?
As soon as electric cars reduce consumption by a million barrels a day we start heading for surplus and cheap gas........happening now

You do realize that much of electricity generation is by FOSSIL FUELS like Coal, and Natural Gas, right? We are already a net exporter of oil, and our energy prices, including GASOLINE are extremely low.

Economical and the most practical, they are not very efficient. Most of the energy is wasted through engine heat and exhaust. We could include braking as well if you want to to compare to cars that generate and store energy when braking.

I think you meant to say "Trump won't alienate the Canadians."

You import 3,093,000 barrels per day from Canada, but only 949,000 per day from Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis are irrelevant, and have been for a long time.

Those laws will ultimately be repealed or delayed in their implementation.

The percentage of electric car owners in Britain -- who plans on banning gasoline and diesel cars by 2040 -- is the same as the percentage in the US, and for the exact same reason, namely that electric cars are unaffordable for the vast majority of US and British Households.

Anybody supporting electrical car is either too stupid to graduate high school or anti science.

In physics and chemistry, the law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant.

There are only so many ways to generate electricity. Except for water, wind and solar, which way doesn’t generate pollution?

There’s a waste of energy to generate electricity by burning oil and another waste to transfer electricity to kinetic energy - moving the car.

It would be much more efficient and cleaner to just burn fuel.
