There is a really simple way to come up with $5 billion for the wall. STOP SPENDING $155 billion every single year on criminal aliens! We can do this without impacting a single American. Or we could eliminate our foreign aid-including the additional $10.6 billion just spent on corrupt Mexican and Central American politicians.
Or just stop spending for security and extras at MariLago shindigs and Manhattan apartments! That would pay for itself and the wall in no time.
Ineffective wall? I have posted several links proving that the good walls in place already have been very effective in deterring illegal entry. Did you miss them or just ignore them? Even the Border Patrol and Homeland Security have said so. Do you know better than them?

Good lord where did it come from that the “left” doesn’t want border security?? That’s never been said. What’s being sad is spending $5 billion on a wall that will spend decades to build makes no sense. Most illegals are here from over staying their visas, not crossing the border.

By the way, since the vast majority of rapists are people who knew the victim, should we just stop prosecuting all rapes where the perpetrator and victim are complete strangers? Apparently, you think that "the majority of cases" is super important, to the point of completely ignoring everyone else committing the same crime. Here's another one: The vast majority of murders occur within the victim's racial demographic. Blacks are mostly killed by blacks. Whites are mostly killed by whites. Etc. So since we have another "in most cases" thing here, all white on black and black on white crime should no longer be prosecuted. Seems legit right?
Underlying thing: Walls work. They worked in Israel and Hungary recently. They've worked for most of human history. I would happily agree that they aren't a complete solution all by themselves, but in tandem with increased tech and manpower, they absolutely do work. Interesting thing: That's what Trump just suggested.
The underlying problem is Trump derangement syndrome. If Donald Trump -- a man who I don't even like very much -- cured cancer then the Democrats and Mainstream Media would be furious with him for costing so many doctors their jobs. If he were to bring about permanent world peace, the Democrats would be furious about all the people in militaries all over the world who would be out of work. Donald Trump is wrong about many things, but on the border wall he's absolutely right. We need it. We should have build it decades ago. And it's worth shutting the government down to force the issue.
