Gillette is embracing the #MeToo movement in a new digital ad campaign aimed at men, the latest message from an advertiser attempting to change societal norms.
The ad, dubbed “We Believe,” opens with audio of news about the current #MeToo movement, bullying and “toxic masculinity.” A narrator then goes on to dispute the notion that “boys will be boys,” asking, “Is this the best a man can get? Is it? We can’t hide from it. It has been going on far too long. We can’t laugh it off, making the same old excuses.”
Wow, i'm surprised by this corporate marketing strategy. Insinuating men are bullying, toxic thugs doesn't sound like a good way to get men to buy a product from your company.
In fact, women who love men and think this ad is full of **** may avoid the P&G brand as well. I plan to do so.

I’ve already stopped buying Gillette razors. Have switched to butterfly opening double edge razors. Blades are far cheaper and sharper than disposable blades/heads. Now I’ll be buying another brand of shaving cream. Gillette’s advertisement equates men with bullies, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rapist. Anyone who’s been in USA public schools knows women can be just as bullying and vicious as men. There are rising cases of women targeting young boys and girls for sex.
They should advertise in ways that supports men in the traditional gallantry sense. Seems this current advertising campaign is more attractive towards women than men.

It’s certainly more attractive to women who hate men. Lots of them crawling around these days.
Are they attempting to lose their customer base...Could you imagine a company specialized in the cosmetic industry publishing anti feminist ads ? This is odd.
Character defines an individual, not gender. The marketing agency needs to put down the smartphones. Social media and hashtags don't represent the real world. A man can be masculine and make good choices, treat people well. Gillette missed the mark.
