The video shows two people walking in the general area of where Smollett was and does not show the attack. Chicago police said they would like to question the two people in for questioning.
I don't know anything about him but 2am in Streeterville probably won't yield much in the way of drugs.

Well, in my area, the clubs and most bars start to close around 2, and that's when the drug dealers come out trying to snag last minute customers. Sadly, this is also the times when guys will try and get some roofies, so there is that to think about.

Very true, a person of interest is not a suspect. But, it does show we should hold off before declaring this a hoax.
This fits their view of America as a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, terrible place. It must be depressing being people like that, having those thoughts about this great country. In their minds, minorities and gay people are being attacked left and right in the streets.
But many of these politicians don’t believe it—they’re parroting lines as if from a script, to check off all identity politics boxes. Gavin Newsom threw in transphobia and anti-Semitism in his tweet. If I had a dime for every time he tweeted some variation of “We must stand against this kind of hate” I’d be rich.

I'm guessing it's not unusual for people to travel in "twos" at 2 a.m. in Chicago, so spotting two men in the vicinity of where this was supposed to have occurred means nothing.
But if you want to believe that Chicago is MAGA country, Trump supporters knew who he was (and watch Empire LMAO), and just happened to have bleach and rope with them, go right ahead.

Extremely odd tweet. One doesn’t need to worry about their salt or sugar turning out to be cocaine or anthrax if they buy it at the store like a normal person. But he appears to be warning cocaine users that they could be buying salt or sugar (fraud) or anthrax (danger).
And for those that don’t know, gay men sometimes use the term “the family” to refer to the gay population. I don’t know if that’s as common now that gay marriage and adoption are the law of the land. It comes from gays being rejected from their own biological family and not legally allowed to start their own, so they viewed the gay community itself as their family. Of course Smollett could just be calling his fans his family, or he could be sending a coded warning to a very specific subculture (gay male drug users).
