CPD Chief is letting the DA have it in a press conference. Listening on radio so I can only go by voice, but it sounds like Mayor Rahm is joining in expressing his displeasure.
This is the DA Crook County voted for. They knew what they were getting and pulled the lever for her anyway -- perhaps even approvingly.

1.) Sometimes DAs and Special Counsels simply do not have enough evidence to warrant charges.
2.) Funny how the same people questioning why charges were dropped against Smollet want more questions are the same people saying we don't need to see the Mueller Report.
I told you guys right from the start this would happen here in this thread and I repeated it a number of times.
Jussie Smollett is a Hollywood celebrity who also checks a number of other boxes on the Democrat left's "Identity politics" hierarchy of 'social justice'. The Democrat left has corrupted our system of justice and it can no longer be trusted to adjudicate matters based on whether the accused's conduct violates the law, but instead preferential treatment is openly granted based on the person's politics, their celebrity status, their sexual practices and of course the color of their skin.
If anyone here had any doubts about this shocking truth, the dismissal of these charges against Smollett should go a long way towards clearing up your confusion on this point.
With the Democrat left, we are no longer a nation of laws, we are a nation based on personalities and political preference.
Clearly you were correct ..... They had a confession and video tape to back up that confession.
Smollett had something more powerful ...... a lot of Friends in High Places

I think he actually said "masked men" -- of course, there was all that stuff he claimed about MAGA, Red Hat anti-black slurs. Pretty clear he meant "white people" .... which is WHY it was investigated as a Hate Crime.

Smollett went on national TV, very adamantly saying two white guys in MAGA hats attacked him, rope around his neck, and so on. This morning his attorney said his two Blk friends did indeed attack him for reasons unknown.

No we don't. The charges weren't dropped because it wasn't a hoax, they were dropped in recognition for his "volunteer service to the community." And surely it was out of his sense of community that he surrendered a pile of cash to the DA's office.
