Sounds like Chicago has the same power structure we have here in Baltimore. One set of rules for blacks who are connected with the all black power structure and another set of rules for everyone else (blacks who aren't connected and white/latins/Asians).

We can back up. I'm not excusing or justifying any wrongdoing that was made PUBLIC. Heck, I don't think he is innocent of some of the allegations but there is more to the story. I prefer to wait and hear what the deal was with the case.
You're not going to hear what the deal was with this case because the DA's office has sealed the case. Of course you're welcome to take them at their word they let him walk because his "service to the community" (and his surrendered $10,000 bond) outweighs the damage he's done to it.

He wasn't assigned community service, his past and (presumably) ongoing volunteer service to the community were given as reasons for dropping the charges.
