When "Christians" consider Donald Trump, a three-time married man who raw dogs porn stars, one of their own and not Barack Obama, a devout family man, is it any wonder anymore why young people are leaving Christianity en masse?
I had no idea Christianity was such a party religion!
All inerrant Bible believing Christians have to believe this.
For those who are curious, this verse implies that God wants you to submit to government authority without question.
Please note that it does not say to submit to only American, Republican, Christian government authority without question.
So according to that verse, the Bible demands absolute submission even to the likes of Kim Jong-un, Sharia law, Stalin, cannibal warlords, etc. And worst of all...OBAMA.
Some parts of the Bible are best not taken literally.

This. Conservatives try to beat everyone over the head with that verse when a Republican is in office but as soon as a Democrat gets in their entire narrative changes.

Here's the catch:
Christians can't cherry pick what parts of their bible to accept.
They've been commanded to believe that it's the unalterable word of the all-powerful, all-knowing middle eastern god they worship.
As such, every word has to be taken at its face value.
