Most of those 10 states, I see on the list are amazing conservative states that I wouldn't mind living in.

Each state has two senators and if lots of pork-barrel spending goes into bills from Republican senators looking for votes, I am all for it.

Pork-barrel spending in general benefits smaller and more conservatives than Democratic states.
So, you just admitted that you need and want government to step in and subsidize your proudly self-reliant "small government" conservative states...and that you're a hypocrite? Because we all know you would slammed CA for this same sort of behavior.

If you do, then you should acknowledge California's very large role in keeping your local grocery stores stocked.

And the type of farm matters.

More family farms in the flyover states.

More huge corporate farms in California
Forget using States as the category look at the individual recipients...

The 3rd highest receiver of farm subsidies is the Farmers Rice coop out of Sacramento CA.

The sixth is Ducks unlimited....

The 12th is Bureau of Indian affairs....

Handouts to corporate farms used to never exist until they lobbied for the food stamp program.
Now they want to kill the food stamp program but keep the handouts to corporate farms coming.

Some argue it is a national security issue to monetarily support these farms.
They think the same thing in communist countries as well.

Support the farms comrade.

Also lookup the fraud in hobby farms.
They apply for government handouts when they basically only have a garden.

Pushed by corporate lobbyists.
Before the food stamp program, you had usda cheese, rice, beans, dry milk and so on.
Big Business wanted a cut of the action.

I can show you hundreds of lobbyists from the fast food industry, restaurants, that wanted a cut of the food stamp money.
