Damn I always suspected that no talent Dick Van Dyke. I mean he could only sing, dance, act, do comedy. And that other talentless witch Julie Andrews. She never was in anything popular either, and never proved herself. Wow, just, wow.
NOT the one where people assume an article published in a newspaper represents the opinion of that newspaper.
It's not even an opinion, it's a fact.
Victorian Chimney sweeps in London were covered in black soot.
As for Mary Poppins she wipes the soot on her face as it was good luck according to the song, and she wasn't blacking up or trying to mock any one in a racial way.
The guy who wrote such nonsense is an idiot, and a sad reflection of the state of some Universities.
A fact which does nothing to support the allegation that "Mary Poppins is Racist according to the NYT".
I am not saying Mary Poppins is racist indeed if you read my posts, I am claiming the opposite.
Firstly Chinmey Sweeps were covered in soot, which is a fact and secondly Mary Poppins was a light hearted childrens book whilst in the film she has soot on her face as it was good luck to shake hands with a chimney sweep. It was not in a racial context and historically represented the victorian period in London in which the film was set, when Chimney sweeps covered in black soot were a common sight.

I never said you were , the allegation is the NYT is based on their publication of an article by some academic who is no where identified as representing the opinion of the NYT.
Starting to think what isn't racist these days? I think the government should put Xanax in the chemtrail recipe and start spraying it over liberal cities in high dosages because this stuff is getting comically bad.

I haven't mentioned the NYT which can print what it likes, I am responding to Daniel Pollack-Pelzner's article which could have been written in any publication, and is utter nonsense.
