Oh, look... Another ignorant attack on Walmart.

Let's look at the facts...

Walmart is frequently vilified, but they have a profit margin of only 1.37%. If they paid their employees more and/or gave them better benefits, they'd have to raise prices. And as another poster in another thread accurately explained, Walmart's prices are geared to the middle class and below, and that demographic simply doesn't want to pay more for services or goods retailed by Walmart.

https://ycharts.com/companies/WMT/profit_margin

Apple's profit margin is 23.68%.

https://ycharts.com/companies/AAPL/profit_margin

Google's (includes the Android OS and product/service spinoffs) profit margin is 22.78%.

https://ycharts.com/companies/GOOG/profit_margin

The obvious question is WHY does the middle class and below even buy Apple or Android products when by doing so they're quite obviously just putting extra money into Apple's and Google's CEOs pockets?

What kind of doofus doesn't prepare for the unknown?

Most of us who work for a living had no idea to what extent our silver spoon moron in chief's tax 'Cuts' would affect us... so, we banked a little extra to offset the sting.

Like I said, no changes except I made more, paid more and got LESS...
That = a higher tax burden!

Walmart starting pay is $11/hr. Do you take issue with businesses that only pay workers minimum wage or do you save your outrage for Walmart?

Money they earned and own in the first place. A tax break is a move toward basic justice. It is not giving anything to anyone, it is stealing less!
So the fact that this cut blew up the Deficit for the far-flung future..and doubled it almost instantly.....doesn't figure in?

The money was borrowed. From your children and grandchildren since I can tell by your tone that you have no intention of trying to pay it back.

Justice, a strange word to use. Let's use "fiscal prudence". If the economy handed to you is booming the deficit coming down quickly, a responsible person does not go borrow more money just to give tax cuts to corporations.

I really doubt Buffet was fibbing when he said he didn't need it. Business was not clamoring for it, although they certainly aren't going to turn it down.

It was simply the "Santa Claus" theory at work....the PR of giving gifts out of Other People's Money.

If it were fiscally prudent then we would know because tax revenues would skyrocket and the deficit would come down.

The Democrats' voter base.

It's like loaning your neighbor money each month, which they put into a interest account (and get to keep) to get the same money you let them borrow back but the following year?

You can't make this kind of stupid up.

Yeah sure, that's it. They are trolling the national and local news too with their faces and identities.

It was never a secret that the State and Local Tax deductions were no longer going to be deductions on Federal Taxes. Take it up with your State and Local Government.

Interest on HELOC is NOT local/state.

It didn't affect me but I'm sure it was a huge hit on a lot of middle class tax payers.

Go back and read the analysis and prognostications that were made at the time the GOP was having their kegger in the Rose Garden. Because for Trump and those guys in the Rose Garden--nothing mattered other than a win. They hurt a lot of people and they knew exactly what they were doing.

Really--why would they give everyone tax cuts when the economy is good, unemployment is low and the deficit is massive? Dumb idea--average people do not sound like they thought it was a good thing. But, just another reason not to vote for any of them in 2020.

This was a cover for giving corporate America and the one percent a gift. Trump basically admitted as much.
That much is true. Trump didn't have one clue what was in that tax plan. Weren't we supposed to make $4000 more a year?

Basically - this was a Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell gift to their rich, corporate cronies and Trump just wanted to put a score up on the board.
