Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell revealed Thursday that President Trump told him he would sign the border-security bill making its way through Congress -- and will declare a national emergency to fund the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

You'd think as long as this has been going on with the border of Mexico.. It wouldnt have taken til 2019 to declare an "emergency" over it.. This is not going to end well for Mr Trump

If he declares an emergency he will immediately be blocked by a partisan judge and we'll have to wait a year until it gets to the Supreme Court.

I'm pretty the GOP has no more interest in Trump getting his money this way than the Democrats. If this becomes a precedent, then the next Democratic president gets to do the same thing and all of a sudden, climate change or lack of universal healthcare become national emergencies.

This won't end well for him politically with all the battles coming with courts and the 2020 election will be all about this now plus exposing his lack of character and how immature and ineffective and lazy the man is.

Me, I hope he does it. Then I hope that the next President (fingers crossed) declares one (national emergency) on health care and automatic weapons.

Yep.. I'm obviously more liberal but I hope Trump and the Republicans realize they just created a whole new level of executive authority and power with this now.

My other issue with this is for Republicans claiming they sure do not like the government creating more programs and being involved.. Well isnt this that? Just like Iraq was too? You aren't about less government.. You are about using it for your own stuff..
