All a bunch of hypocrites. She will be bought and paid for before the spring is over.
Leftists want the benefits of Capitalism for themselves, not so much for the poor folks they LIE to.

Washington D.C.'s Navy Yard neighborhood is also part of a gentrification battle.

In 2008, the D.C. government was sued for discrimination with an attorney alleging the development in Navy Yard area and other parts of southeast D.C. encouraged affluent millennials to move in and displace minorities.

She also bemoaned her status as a working class person trying to make it in the nation's Capitol.

'We need to kick luxury real estate lobbyists to the curb and defend working people's way of life,' Ocasio-Cortez tweeted in March. 'Skyrocketing cost of living is a national crisis that CAN be addressed. It's not just an NYC issue - it's happening in every US metro area.'

Her new D.C. apartment building - the exact location DailyMail.com is not revealing - contains two private massage rooms; men's and women's saunas; a 25-meter indoor lap pool; a rooftop infinity pool with views of the Capitol; a Peloton cycling studio; and a fireside lounge featuring a Steinway & Sons player piano, the Examiner noted.

Apartments in the building go for $1,840 a month for a 440 square foot studio, and can go up to $5,200 for a three-bedroom.

The median rent in Washington, D.C., is $2,700, according to real-estate website Zillow.

Get elected to the Congress and it's almost instant wealth .... spend a few years and it's all about Power, Money and Corruption. Few escape that - Ocasio-Cortez will NOT be one of the few.
She will concentrate of becoming a STAR & get rich along the way on the backs of her supporters that she denied good jobs to.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is all about “socialism for thee but not for me.”

It is funny how the people who advocate most strongly for socialism end up being a part of the rich, ruling class.

It'll be an interesting meta-debate within the Democrat party if they continue this trend toward acceptance of social democratic principles - how they should brand themselves. Ultimately, I think it's inconsequential. People already are becoming increasingly amenable to the idea of socialism precisely because of right wing fear-mongering. Republicans keep pointing to policies founded on social democratic principles and howl "SOCIALISM!" However, most of these ideas are rather popular, and make people generally think "hey that sounds pretty good." Since "socialism" is the label repeatedly slapped onto these popular, positively-viewed ideas, people are therefore starting to have positive associations with socialism.

There are two approaches that the social democrats in the Democratic Party can take: 1) fight against the "socialist" label, and explain to the people that in actuality they are social democrats; or 2) embrace the label and turn it against Republicans by calling themselves Democratic Socialists, thereby creating a new definition of socialism (even though it technically isn't socialism).

I think the strategy that Bernie, AOC, and others of their ilk are taking is to not run away from Republicans' fear-mongering branding attempts, and to take strategy #2 above. I'm inclined to think that #2 is the better strategy, as #1 forces the Democrats to play defense. If Trump has taught us all one thing, it's the power of branding and playing offense. Running away from labels that a political party collectively puts on you can be quite difficult, and fighting against it, whether right or wrong, can make it seem as if you're justifying and/or hiding something.

That's my two cents at least.

Good point. Maybe they do it intentionally for that reason. At least in Bernies case it would be hard to imagine he does not know the difference.

FYI (something you may already know), the 'age by' cutoff is how old the candidate would be on inauguration day. I didn't know that until a couple of months ago. Before that, I thought it was how old the candidate would be on the day of the election.

It doesn't mater what they call themselves, given what they want to do, they are both math challenged!
