So, everything in the PROPOSED deal is going to happen? Do you know nothing of negotiating? Besides, she has been talking "net-zero," which isn't the same as zero. Things need to start moving, though, and an impetus like this is what we need to fuel innovation.

AOC threatened to place all moderate democrats on a list, then working toward getting them unseated in the primaries IF they didn't vote the way SHE deemed appropriate.

THAT is politics. If she, and the people she's representing, want radical change, it is her duty to advocate for it. It won't all happen. We all know that. But she can throw her weight around if she wants. It's what she was elected to do. A lot of Dems feel the same way. But everything will move to a more centrist spot in the end. My word, you'd think she pulled Excalibur out of the stone the way you all are going on. YOU are giving her far more power than she has. But she's in a unique position. Her election was reactionary, in the same way Trump's was. She represents radical change from the status quo--it's what she was brought in to do.

AOC stood in front of her constituents at a rally and told them to shut up, SHE was in charge now. Well, I missed that, and a quick google search resulted in about 20 instances of others telling her to shut up, so what's the big deal? If she alienates her base, then she will feel it. And I still see a lot of quotes waaaaay out of context. So, don't be disingenuous about it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I hope she NEVER stops speaking, writing or proposing. I hope the media lets her have the limelight, giving her full coverage each and every day because AOC and AOC alone will be the cause of her own political demise, and that demise will have nothing to do with her having a vagina. So you're telling me none of the commentary on her is is because she's female? Really? You do live in a pretty, pretty dreamworld.

But then again, that's just MY opinion.

We are all entitled to how we feel about Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. But much like the wrongly-attributed "I can see Russia from my house" to Sarah Palin, she's not actually saying a good deal of what people attribute to her.

But, whatever, she's got you all in a twist, that's for sure.

LOL blame socialism. Literally the word socialism.
Take a hot button word that your political opponents freak out when hearing...
Then complain when they freak out when you use it.

Crying sexism is not fighting for policy beliefs.

Rebutting the criticisms with well thought facts and comments is fighting for policy beliefs.

Imagine Bernie Sanders getting challenged about the costs associated with national healthcare and having him claim his critics just hate jews.

I don't recall Obama promoting ACA turn around and call the critics of the proposal "racists"....no, he was wayyyy better (and smarter) than that.

If someone does not have depth of knowledge and ability to defend their position they will try to deflect upon being challenged over it. Turning to worn tropes because she can't take the kitchen heat is not a good look.

She’s a strong, independent, powerful woman who fights off evil rich men who want to bring 25k jobs to her community.
What a heroine.
Sounds exactly like those who cry about the white men being the victims of some kind of conspiracy.

See, you attempt to make the same -ism deflection that AOC does.

Got nothing? Oh it's because of her skin color or gender.... the vapid one-argument fits all response.

Occasional-Cortex is a victim. "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen."

nor is it relevant. if this is about obesity, red meat is nothing compared to some of the other garbage endemic in foods. (quick personal note: havent eaten red meat in a decade.) how does someone with no medical training advance her platform by wasting voters time with diet advice they could get from any magazine laying around a waiting room table?

she might as well tell people to bundle up in the winter. its the job of a hall monitor, not a leader. real leaders dont focus on telling people what to eat-- if voters can choose a candidate for themselves, they can probably figure out what to have for dinner without her useless advice.

im sure she thinks it would be better if she just decided everyones diets and politics for them.

you laughably think this is about the right being fragile, but its pretty standard (strategic) politics to make a big deal when politicians start mothering voters-- whether theyre male or female, it smacks of arrogance, and a candidate that is focused on minutiae. of course theyre pointing it out. thats the whole idea of skewering a lousy candidate, where have you been?

I'm NOT all in a twist. As a matter of FACT, I specifically stated,
Quote:
" I hope she NEVER stops speaking, writing or proposing. I hope the media lets her have the limelight, giving her full coverage each and every day because AOC and AOC alone will be the cause of her own political demise..."

But then again, that's just MY opinion, for what it's worth.

Similarly, people wonder why nagging mothers-in-law are ridiculed.

AOC and 30+ others where voted in this year that belong to the same caucus and belive in the same thing.

Now, that the Rightwing media is SOOOOO fixated on her. Its not her that demand attention.. its the rightwing media that GAVE her all that.. because they most likely found her as a threat.. and are trying to make a Clinton out of her. That way they can scaremonger their simpletons a while longer..
