Good.

(I mean, good that he is uncomfortable with it, not that his "unhinged" state would then be creating more uneasiness for the country).

The lowest age of consent in the United States is 16, but there is also a stipulated acceptable difference in ages between the two parties in most of them. You can get married at 14 in Alaska and North Carolina, 15 in Hawaii, Kansas, Maryland, and Indiana, and 16 in 20 states.

None of which applies in the case of Epstein. They were over the hill at 16 in his view, and he wasn't looking for any long-term relationships.

What could possibly shock me...or us? This is only possible if one hasn't been reading or is somehow protected by those around them.

I get shocked by...stuff like sending 100's of thousands of national guard troops to fight and die for wars of choice. Recessions caused by greed and lack of oversight. A 12 year old child's mind, and a poor one at that, sitting in the White House.

That is shocking stuff. This...is just a distraction. Everyone points the finger elsewhere but our entire culture is highly sexualized and there is a reason that folks like Brooke Shield (what? at 14?) were top models.

Tanks shooting DU shells down residential neighborhoods of places we invade....that's shocking. The sexualizing of American culture (look at Elvis...the KING, married a 14 year old).....that isn't shocking.

It's just one more episode of The Apprentice. There could be 100K plus or more people doing this stuff everyday in the USA and we, the mob, will CHEER when we hear some names and 3 of them (if lucky) get some "justice".

It's sad - but it's the truth.
Sadly, I concur. I wish I didn't have to do so.

Right, but one has to admit the South Korean and Israeli figures are of interest.

Since so many on these boards are "pro Israel" with their thread after thread, it stands to reason they consider it an example to the world in moral and ethical and western ideals. Yet, if I read that correctly, a 50 years old could do heavy petting with a 14 year old with consent. An 80 year old could have sex with a 16 year old with no legal problems - with consent.

Always interesting to see the difference - when so much yapping is going on on Twitter calling those females or males "children". Well, in Israel a 14 year old isn't fully considered such and a 16 year old definitely is not. 13 is the "age of adult" (Bar Mitzvah) in our religion.
"when Jewish boys become 13 years old, they become accountable for their actions "

S. Korea - wikipedia may be wrong according to some other sources. Here's a map
https://www.ageofconsent.net/world/philippines

It's a bit complicated since many of these places do have the "3 year difference" situation, but some do not. Our close ally, the Phillipines, appears to have a serious 12 years old for anything....

Since the US literally governed that place and the Catholic Church also ruled, it seems strange....but maybe true never the less.

As I stated previously I hardly believe in Adults. The WH is populated by a Child and my 9 year old granddaughter thinks on a higher plane. My middle daughter knew right from wrong by age 2 and would fight to make it so. It was tough because she would discipline my wife and I knew who was right!

Mueller’s ‘Star Witness’ George Nader Indicted on Additional Child Sex Crime Charges

Investigators previously found 12 videos on Nader’s phone showing children as young as 3 being sexually abused.
Mueller used a pedophile to implicate President Trump in ‘Russia collusion’ — Knowing that no crime related to collusion exists in US law.

A Czech Republic court sentenced him in 2003 for ten cases of sexually abusing minors between 1999 and 2002.
Nader asked for oral sex from a 14-year-old boy in a hotel room at the Hilton in Prague. When the boy refused, Nader masturbated in front of him and paid him 2,000 koruna, equivalent to around $100 today, a court official told the Associated Press.

Politico then revealed he was convicted in 1986 in a federal court in Northern Virginia in 1991 on a felony charge of importing child pornography from overseas.

Epstein shipped paper shredder, tile and carpet extractor from his house in the Virgin Islands to his house in NY.
You can't just wash blood out of carpet and even tiny dots of it in grout could be detected using modern methods.

Exactly. There are no "good sides" and "bad sides". Our entire society is corrupt and sick to the core. I do not know how it can be changed. It is deeply depressing. My four children are grown and range in age from 24 to 31. When they were little, I never left them with anyone because I did not trust anyone with them (except for my mother and sister, and their dad). I just knew that there were too many pedophiles out there to ever take my eyes off of them.

I agree. Trump's tweets and statements are becoming bizarre lately. I believe trump is trying to change the dialogue away from his possible involvement with the Epstein scandal.

If he kept it, of course, it can be examined. However, if it was put in a dumpster and it has been picked up it likely can never be recovered.
