I would reverse 1988 to prevent the appointment of Clarance Thomas, prevent the Bush and Clinton families from becoming so powerful, keep Cheney out of the Department of Defense (and therefore prevent him from being trusted on foreign policy), and possibly prevent the Kuwait War and the fallout from it.
However, we would have had McCain in 2005 so what I said probably won't have mattered.
Gore would have lost in '04 after 9/11.
There might have no been a 9/11 if Gore was president. Maybe he would have taken the warnings more seriously? Maybe the economy would not crashed. Nobody knows and we will never know It's all speculation.
The 2000 election because of Iraq. How much money are we still spending on that useless war not to mention Afghanistan? I believe we definitely belonged in Afghanistan at the beginning but we should have been long gone by now.

9/11 was planned before Bush was elected...most of not all of the hijackers enter the country legally when Clinton was president and Gore was VP. Some from Canada and some on student visas.
Few things here: One: in 1998 in Sudan where Bin Laden lived at he time offered Bin Laden to the US after the he was tied to the embassies bombing in both Tanzania and Kenya. Clinton administration refused. Two suspected Embassies bombers were arrested in Sudan and offered to the US but Clinton administration refused to extradite either.
Two: In June of 1998 the US state department warned that Bin Laden might target civilian aircraft, According to a MSNBC report the 9/11 commission did not address the warning in their report.
Three: In October of 1998 the FAA again warned of Al Qaeda threat to US civil aviation. These threats and other were ignored by both the FBI and the CIA.
Four: In April and June of 2000 FBI agent Ken Williams begins investigating an Arizona flight student named Zacaria Soubra with suspicious radical militant ties. Soubra will be the main focus of Williams’s July 2001 memo about suspect Middle Easterners training in Arizona flight schools. But Williams’ investigation into Soubra is greatly slowed because of internal politics and personal disputes. When he returns to this case in December 2000, he and all the other agents on the international terrorism squad are diverted to work on a high-profile arson case. James Hauswirth, another Arizona FBI agent, will later say, “[Williams] fought it. Why take your best terrorism investigator and put him on an arson case? He didn’t have a choice.” The arson case is solved in June 2001 and Williams returns to the issue of Islamic militant flight school students. His memo comes out much later than it otherwise might have. Hauswirth will write a letter to FBI Director Mueller in late 2001, complaining, “[Terrorism] has always been the lowest priority in the division; it still is the lowest priority in the division.” Others insiders later concur that the Arizona FBI placed a low priority on terrorism cases before 9/11.
I can provide the whole complete 9/11 time line if you want.....

Wow, you want to keep Thomas out but have Breyer and Ginsburg in?
Maybe you have your elections mixed up, because Clinton would have won against most in 92 having nothing to do with Bush Sr losing in 88. Clinton would have lost to Bush Sr in 92 had Perot not jumped in. Otherwise Clinton and his cookie baking wife would not have risen to power. Bush losing in 88 would have all but guaranteed the Clinton's becoming powerful (assuming you are being honest).
Heck it was Bush who pushed Saddam back out of Kuwait which the entire world wanted, but he then refused to go into Iraq to remove Saddam.
Most people praise him or that, but you'd undue that just to unseat a scotus
BTW - Back then Cheney advised Bush Sr not to go into Iraq for all the right reasons. Why he did a 180 as VP with Bush Jr is one of the questions I'd like to aks him personally if I could.
I voted to keep the Manchurian candidate out, as he was a disaster on many fronts, not the least of which he stirred racial animus to a level I have never witnessed in my lifetime.

While I don't blame either Clinton or Bush for 9/11, rest assured it still would have happened as most of the training and lack of LE communication occurred on Clinton's watch.
Dick Cheney was one of the absolute worst things to happen to this country. The crazy thing is the GOP knows it to. They had to hate Obama to deflect from the reality of the disaster of the BUSH presidency.
