Anyone who claims to be an independent candidate and campaigns by slamming the Democrats, is just a thinly-disguised right-winger. But let him siphon-off some Republican votes, the way Nader did to the Democrats in 2000.
What is Trump “fascism” ?

A booming economy including record low unemployment for minorities?

Not gonna work. Lefties aren’t lining up behind him, and neither will righties, and neither will centrists. There’s just no there there. IF he makes it all the way to the state primaries - which I doubt - his percentages will be in the low single digits.

The ridiculous part is that this guy is only getting attention as a serious political candidate because he is a billionaire and can buy his way to power. Thats a messed up democratic system. Its not even democratic. Its rule by wealth. The guy has zero grassroots support. No political thinker. Just a random billionaire who's afraid he'll have to pay more in taxes and lose some of his immense power and status. Then hides behind how "concerned" he is for the nation. People like him have a lot to answer for.

Oscar Wilde put it so wisely: Nothing succeeds like excess, and this excessive capitalism under Trump signals the last days of Capitalism. Excess wins yet again!

I've never been so encouraged, and hopeful, seeing a powerful 3rd party emerge in this country finally (Gore Vidal would disagree, saying we've always had, essentially, one political party in this country) calling itself the Democratic Socialist party, which will give both the Corporatcrats (Republicans and Democrats) a run for their money, and good riddance to both of them!

I was just reading In These Times, about the successes they've had out East, winning District Attorney positions. One won in Philadelphia, and fired 30 prosecutors, signaling an end to mass incarcerations. Another victory was scored in Queens, where the protesters against the Amazon facility will not be prosecuted. Up, up and away!!!

Possible independent 2020 presidential hopeful Howard Schultz cautioned the nation against electing another Democrat with how far the party continues to shift to the left.

[T]he Democrats are shifting so far to the left that … unless there’s some sense brought into the party, we’re going to end up with socialism in America if a Democrat should win,” Schultz told Hugh Hewitt., host of “The Hugh Hewitt Show.”

He added, “I don’t want to see that happen.

Mr Shultz has been seriously deluded and is trying to do the same to the population.
True socialism is where the government runs everything which is not the same as having more social programs like healthcare for all ,affordable education for all a viable minimum wage, increased environmental regulations etc.

We've already had 8 miserable years of Obama socialism where he denigrated the country and did as much damage as he could.......

Study Schultz history and you will see he supports socialism it it benefits him, and rejects the parts that benefit others.

Funny, but no one with a brain is buying it. Presidents have little or no effect on the economy as you well know. They will always claim to be the reason for any uptick - and they will always blame their predecessor for any downturn. When in reality American business proceeds on it's own as it always will, thank you very much.

As far as the Trump movement and similar movements all over the world being neo-fascist, that's not even worth a discussion. It is crystal clear. The only baffling part is that many Trump hard liners aren't actively celebrating that fact.

What is really ironic about this whole "socialist boogeyman" strategy from the Right is that the USA has always been "socialist" at some level. The reality is that the very concept of having a government at all is a form of social engineering that we determined is needed for our survival and prosperity.

The other ironic thing is that all the Right wingers slinging this nonsense are perfectly happy to spend money on huge military budgets, or to support a pet pork barrel project in their State or district.
