I'm glad to hear that, but it sounds like you're just a very lucky person then. Count your blessings.
nothing in my life has to do with luck. it has to do with careful planning and painstaking execution. don't try to belittle my accomplishments by chalking them up to "luck."
And if health issues came up during someone's early 20s? Things like cancer and injuries don't wait around for people to build a nest egg, y'know.
Actually, I know a LOT of people who got shingles in their 20s and even teens...
I had health insurance all throughout my 20's. I didn't go a week without it. I had a $20k brain scan. cost to me? zero. it's all laid out quite simply in the plans. deductibles and things like that. people always choose the cheapest option. note I used the word "choose." it's a choice. I make the right one, and it has nothing to do with luck.
Life's not fair, so do what's needed to prepare for an emergency. Cut back on the tats, $300 sneakers, and buy cheaper weed.
Additional advice will be provided at no extra cost.
This isn't about me, I'm fortunate enough to not need to worry much. I just recognize that many others aren't so lucky, and even if they save 100% of their income, if cancer hits during their first year in the workforce, that would only cover maybe 1/10 of the final bill.
People in other developed countries don't generally have to worry about things like that.

Is that always the criteria for our domestic policies? Other Countries do it? Other Countries do many things, like confiscate firearms, limit car engine displacement, or control the press. Why must we emulate a Country that isn't like us?
I was fortunate that I didn't have a health crisis when young, but now we have a whole generation that was told erroneously that they are entitled to pretty much everything they need. This is why they are lashing out. They were lied to.
I've dodged the bullet so far with my health, although a knee is about shot.
My wife has MS. Her monthly part for GILENYA is about $4 grand. That definitely plays into our retirement planning.
Life's a *****.
