Avoiding a perjury trap Roger Stone takes the 5th Amendment, refuses to cooperate with Dem's probe/witch hunt.
It will be interesting to see how all this plays out. Roger Stone and Hope Hicks approach Nadler's witch hunt as polar opposites. Less risky is Stone's position IMO. Hicks risk is she won't be caught in a perjury trap.
Stone attorney Grant Smith wrote in a letter to Nadler.
“The production of documents that may be responsive to this fishing expedition request would unquestionably be a testimonial act protected by the U.S. Constitution.”
“Fifth Amendment rights must be understood by all to be the assertion of a Constitutional right by an innocent citizen, who is currently defending his innocence, and one who denounces secrecy for the purposes of advancing innuendo.”
"If you are not guilty of a crime, what do you need immunity for? The mob takes the Fifth Amendment. If you're innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?"

Yet another thread that did not go as the OP intended.

Anyone else remember when the left cheered wikileaks on when it was leaking stuff during the Bush administration? Guess they only like certain people/sources etc when they are attacking republicans and the right....hypocrites.
Stone has nothing to lose. He's going to jail in November, probably for the rest of his life.
Would you like to bet on that life sentence or maybe you were just exaggerating...
