Estimates of gun ownership is between 400 and 600 million guns. Probably around 100 million modern sporting rifles are in the hands of Americans. (AR, AK, etc)

I’ve seen estimates of 8 trillion rounds being out there in the US.

Just thought I’d tell that story.

Making ammunition more expensive does little to affect gun owners

Believe me, we stocked up a decade ago.

Circumstances have kept me from getting to it, but I do have a reloading system that I'll get set up one day. In the meantime, yes I have a few thousand rounds. Making ammo more expensive will affect me, though, so I disagree with you there.

Funny side note: I was complaining to hubby about not having time to start reloading, and he said, "Just throw that book at an intruder. That thing would do some damage." LOL. True, that reloading manual is one hefty book.

I had a client that had to get a pallet jack to move the Ammo out of his garage into his moving van. Largest stash of ammo I've ever seen by an individual.

Won’t affect you much because you have thousands of rounds.

Wonderful pastime. Good investment in case of the zombie attack/race war.

We usually keep around 3000 rounds on hand which will suffice for a few target practice sessions at the range for the two of us.

This is what I was getting at. A few thousand rounds isn't nearly enough to NOT be affected if prices go up. That only works if you're not shooting any of it.
