And there is nothing wrong with the flag itself, but something gave it that feeling.

Maybe just the stereotype of the American D. bag?
I'd be interested in knowing more about you. Are you American (and if so, native-born?), youngish, college-educated, liberal, white, and middle class or above?

(I'm just trying to figure out the type of people who have "subconscious" hostility to the American flag and associate it with "arrogance." )

When I see neighbors display the American flag, I am glad they are proud of their country. Growing up, we always put a flag out on holidays to demonstrate our appreciation of the country. Never occurred to me that people thought that was arrogant!

They`re proud of their country for what? Our last highlight moment was the moon landing in 1969.

Same question for you. Again, just trying to figure out who the America-haters are.

Obviously, you're a liberal.

Something no other countries have ever done, which makes each of them at least 50 years behind. Most of the people bitching about our flag are products of countries whos mode of transportation would be the donkey if it weren’t for our technology.

What are the illegals who wave their flags proud of? Being number one in malaria and picking coffee beans?

I'm proud that the United States government doesn't stone homosexuals to death or behead adulterers like most Muslim countries do. That's something to be proud of.

Okay. I'm all for bringing over some "other" culture and legalities.

The one I like most is where if you get caught stealing something, you get your hands chopped off.

Bet shoplifting, porch pirating, and burglary isn't much of a problem. So yeah. That WOULD be something to be proud of. Let's import that.

No the US uses drones to blow them up, sanctions to starve them/deny them medicines, special ops to pollute the drinking water, bombs to level the hospitals...
See how much better you are?

All this stuff started happening with the whole SJW movement. Now our country’s flag is “controversial “?

——
A decision to affix an American flag graphic to the side of freshly painted Laguna Beach police cars is dividing residents who are alternately praising the image as patriotic or panning it as too aggressive.

“People are screaming that the American flag on a police car is somehow or another … hurting people’s feelings who might be immigrants or visitors,” said Councilman Peter Blake. “People are actually ridiculous enough to bring up comments about our cop cars having American flags on them.”

This is another point of division that Trump has brought to the forefront
With his incessant wrapping himself in the flag as being so patriotic yet at the same time choosing to take actions that tear at the fabric of social justice, the integrity of departments like the FBI and other intelligence services, the role of the courts, his open encouragements for police/DHS to break the laws to serve Trump’s agenda—he has weaponized that flag as a symbol of HIS policies....vs the Constitution/America’s justice system

Well, wait around a couple of years—let the Christian Right get into power and maybe Trump make himself president for life and you might see homosexuals and transgendered Americans dealt with that way...
Of course we know adulterers are safe since Trump fits that bill...

What proof do you have to justify that statement—that “most of the people bitching about our flag are products of countries whos mode of transportation would be the donkey if it weren’t for our technology”???
