The lawsuit challenging Ohio’s map called it “one of the most egregious gerrymanders in recent history,” one that has reliably done its job by allowing the GOP to capture 75% of the seats by winning a little more than half the state’s votes.
Voters should choose their elected officials. Elected officials should not choose their voters.
Gerrymandering should be unconstitutional but the conservative supreme court will likely uphold it.
Without gerrymandering, minorities would almost never win a district.
All the crying about the unfairness of gerrymandering will assist America in the destruction of the Democrat party. Good.
House districts represent 700,000 voters each. Ya want nice square districts? .... You ain't gonna like the result.

Maybe, maybe not. But, the reason gerrymandering was upheld by the courts, and even encouraged, was to give minorities (particularly blacks) greater representation in state and federal level government. Had it not been for gerrymandering Congress would have stayed much whiter than it is - why to do think the House is so much more diverse than the Senate?
