His speech was flat and awkward, and certainly unworthy of praise. It was also not a hair raising oh my god speech. Only hardliners would be offended by it. Trump was like many I know awkward with dealing with kids especially not his own.
I was relieved to see that Biden wasn't trolling around among the children copping feels and sniffing hair.
Children are innocent.
They are not old enough to experience the hardships called life.
They are way too young to be opinionated.
That's what he meant by liking them more than their parents.

And whatever he did manage to say that was appropriate and made any sense was scripted by someone else. He just could not contain himself. Trump does not give a chit about anyone's kids and he has proven it big time in many ways.
If Obama said that to kids about their parents they would be calling for his head. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
Obama didn't often speak to kids, but when he did ...... he had teleprompters set up in the school room.
