Why have the hearing ? What is it all about ? Everyone's time is waisted as the chairman refuses to allow members to participate and adjourns the meeting.
AG Barr put it plainly yesterday in his Senate Hearing ....
“How did we get to the point where the evidence is now that the president was falsely accused of colluding with the Russians, accused of being treasonous and accused of being a Russian agent, and the evidence now is that that was without a basis?” he asked. “And two years of his administration have been dominated by allegations that have now been proven false. But to listen to some of the rhetoric, you would think the Mueller report had found the opposite.”
No better, more concise statement has been made about the bankrupt nature of the Democratic Party. Let these Democrats have their Dog and Pony Show. They demanded a Special Councel and are now Hysterical because they didn’t get the answer they expected.
It’s going to get worse for them ... the genesis of this Witch Hunt is going to be investigated.
They will hate the results of that investigation even more than the Mueller Report.
the whole purpose of these things it to make speeches, you can do that to an empty chair and its not like any of these people are aware enough on how silly they look.
IT is a big show for the media and the problem is the Left will use it to further denounce Barr and Trump. If Barr attends he will again be subjected to ridiculous questions from people that due to their lofty positions we assume are intelligent but boy are the proving that theory wrong.
The Dems are throwing fits because they are not getting the answers they and their backers demand so they keep on digging and digging and now they are investigating the investigators.

He cancelled because the democrats wanted staff lawyers to be able to question him. So we can have a staff lawyer interview Christine Ford who isn't even a lawyer but we cant have staff lawyers interview the Attorney General.
Nadler talks about holding A.G. Barr in contempt but it not for his refusal to appear today. Its for failing to provide a complete unredacted Mueller report. He is going to subpoena A.G. Barr asking him to break the law. Nadler is going to be crushed in court. The rulings on 6 E material guarantees another defeat for the loony left and Nadler.

There is a difference between the senate and the house. There is a difference between oversight and a confirmation hearing. There is no precedence outside of an impeachment proceeding, for questioning by staff attorneys, in an oversight hearing its never been done.
Lets test it in court !!! That's the way the system works and the courts are there to make these kinds of decisions.

He doesn't want to answer questions for thirty straight minutes from any one lawyer. He'd much rather do the five minute ping-pong to escape in depth questions.
The white house is certainly dysfunctional, and under McConnell the Senate is unable to function in a normal constructive manner. The only functional parts are the Supreme Court and the 116th US House of Representatives which keeps passing legislation and undertakes it's constitutional role of oversight.
If Barr is unwilling to report to the congress he is dysfunctional and should resign in disgrace. The fact that he is afraid to answer for himself says more about him than about the congress.
