Once again, an innocent man does not go to such extremes to cover up every document demonstrating his innocence. If Trump is so innocent, he wouldn't care if his tax returns or the Mueller report were released 20 times. It wouldn't disclose anything of value at any point. What innocent man tweets, "I'm innocent! But I won't show you the documents." And what about Congress being an EQUAL branch of government? This is not a monarchy. And Trump seems to be trying to cover up evidence of his own wrongdoing. How is that acceptable? It would be like a bank robber suppressing the bank's surveillance camera footage.
As long as McConnell - who has done away with any pretense of the Senate being anything but the White House's front office - can muster 33 votes against, it's a moot point. The Trumpenproletariat will consider it a complete victory, and McConnell - who's evil, but not stupid - will release R senators from purple states to vote for impeachment, to bolster their credentials with undecided voters. It's not a winning move.
Just because you don't like the conclusion that Mueller and Barr disclosed doesn't mean it isn't right. I'm good with it, and was good with it when it was first announced.
This country needs to get past this BS.
The country can never get past the BS as long as the master of BS is in residence at the WH.
True, the full unredacted report should not be released to the public. But it could be placed in a secure room to be read only by those congresspersons with the appropriate security clearances.
"But it could be placed in a secure room to be read only by those congresspersons with the appropriate security clearances"
Team Trump is in full cover-up mode now. This denies the full Mueller report to Congress and all of the underlying evidence.
It's settled law that executive privilege does not apply to impeachment. The ball is in the Democrats' court now: this might force them to begin impeachment hearings.
I'm sure one strategy under discussion is for the House to begin impeachment proceedings. This would erase all executive privilege. Trump would lose all pardon power for anyone related to the crimes in the articles of impeachment.
This would expose a lot more wrongdoing to the public. At which point the Dems decline to take an impeachment vote and instead leave it the to public to decide to remove Trump from office at the ballot box.
This would be a great strategy. I hope it is being seriously considered.
So you want me to tell you the contents of the redacted parts of the Mueller memo?
Couldn't rep you again, but I chuckled...
