Gosh I hate this sort of vapid, nihilistic rationalization of dishonesty and greed. I tend to hear it from righties most of the time. So, because some unscrupulous individual finds an angle to enrich him/herself, that's a victory for her and na, na, na, na na-na, in your face?

One of the heartening things throughout this has been my discovery of left-wing journalists with integrity who long ago chronicled the conspiratorial nonsense she was peddling on her show and they did not stop and they were ultimately vindicated.
The thing that makes it worse with Maddow is that she is not an idiot like Sean Hannity. She knows better, but she committed to this and got in so far that she lacked the courage to admit that she was wrong. I mean stuff like that alarmist claptrap she tried foisting on her audience about "Maybe Russia will shut down our power grid and kill Americans" was appalling. Alex Jonesian stuff. But because networks are run by folks governed by the same nihilistic sentiments you voiced, they will not pull the plug on this woman so long as she can deliver a million viewers to the companies that pay the bills for her network.
