It's understandable why some people are slow to accept climate change. It's an abstract concept.
But when it slaps you hard in the face, you better pay attention.

Same reason they denied smoking caused cancer for decades.

Industries that stood to lose from a reduction in fossil fuels seeded the denialist movment and the CEC took it from there once Al Gore got involved since it was easy to paint the whole thing as a Democratic idea and therefore obviously wrong (for anyone in the CEC).

I accept that climate change is real but that's just one giant pile of stupid.

It's pointing at every record high, or low, or snowfall or drought or flooding....just opens the door for the opposition to cite the opposite when it occurs.

Taking an utterly unscientific approach like Mayor McCheese is NOT a good thing.

There has been historic flooding in the Midwest, I wouldn’t attribute one incident to climate change but these incidents are becoming more frequent. This flooding in particular has gone on for months not weeks. It’s hard to put a number on this but we are hearing the word “historic” every few months whether it’s fires or moisture related.

This is going to be very costly.

What was the OP reason for the very cold winter that NY had? Climate change maybe, which most people will agree with, as through out history the weather has been changing.

Just another hack mayor politicizing his town's situation. He needs to be more concerned about getting the citizens to safety instead of crowing some myth.

On average the earth is warming, more warming means more moisture and more events. This one event may not be related but it sure is a disaster of historic proportion.

Climate change, the new AGW.

News flash, the climate always changes.

The only people who don't believe in climate change are leftists who believe it's supposed to be static.

AGW is fake. And if it's not, NOTHING can be done to stop it.

However, it is fake, and it's a money grab.
