And of course none of the proposed laws would have had any effect on the shooting. Folks deciding to indiscriminately take the lives of other folks isn't going to get any better by passing laws. But at least we know "he cares" and "something is being done", that should make everyone sleep better at night.

So do you advocate everybody combat the threat of gun violence by buying a gun and don't dare go out without it?

No.

Not everyone. But people who are willing to assume the burden and responsibility to do so should be allowed to.

Carrying isn't for everyone. But those who are able are a resource to protect the sheep.

Like it or not cops aren't everywhere. You can't carry a cop with you. When police show up to a crime scene it's usually all over they collect bodies and write reports or arrest if needed.

The world needs sheep dogs to protect the sheep from wolves.

well the fact is, that even the most mentally deranged person with the intent on killing the most people, it going to have a 're-think' about going into an armed place as opposed to a 'gun-free' zone

think about it, you want the most carnage, do you go to the sitting ducks, or do you go against a group that is trained and armed??

although most of these mass shooters are mentally compromised, most are looking for the most carnage, to make a name for themselves, not to be stopped before they start
