Obama was neither one of the best or worst presidents. If he was one of the best, he would have been able to get ObamaCare approved with some Republican support.
I wasn't alive during Carter's presidency but he's the only living president I admire. Trump a little with how much he's exposed the left's true colors. But Carter at least has principles to be admired, lives frugally, helps the poor, spearheaded green movements like solar on the WH.
Republicans love to appropriate Dead Democrats as their own to try to make themselves less extreme than they really are. Except for among theirselves, it isn’t working.
So you agree that people should not ask for stuff but ask what they can do?
You agree with ending the Fed Reserve?
You agree with breaking up the CIA?
You agree with going back to the Gold standard?
Remember when Clinton was tough on crime? 25 year sentences to minorities for crack possession. Hmmm, maybe that's what they intended, take people's lives away... mainly those of poor minorities, then act like the good guys promising prison reform and doing away with employee checks on criminal history so they're fooled into voting Democrat. "Those Democrats gave me my right to vote!" They're the ones that took it from you.
Obama was the worst in my memory, and I remember Ike!!! Carter, second, Clinton third.
I have been around since the Nixon admin. And no matter how bad the Presidents have been, One thing I could always believe that they at least loved and cherished the American way. That was until Obama.
It's good to know that others feel the same as I do.
I'd really have a hard time ranking them.....in a "centered" fashion, I'd also pick Obama, although I was born when IKE was around and I like IKE.
LBJ - did much greater things than ANY POTUS in my lifetime. Not even a contest. But he is vilified for being effective and for the curse of Vietnam. But in the scheme of history, he passed more legislation which changed the country and the future for the better...by far.
Then you have all the rest. Reagan was an actor, Carter well-meaning but too smart for the office (not enough of a politician). Nixon was a crook, Clinton was good for the economy and a centrist and worked at least 1/2 decently with a GOP Congress.
GWB is one of the worst in history (measured), Trump will be the worst or one of the bottom 3.
That leaves Daddy Bush who never impressed me either way which means he didn't really fix anything major....just held the office. Kept the seat warm.....but not a far negative like Trump of GWB where we will pay for the actions for decades...
I can see how folks would say Obama and according to the official Historians that would be the case. I can just imagine the heads popping off of many as they process that info, but reality is reality. No one is forced to agree, but the charts will continue all through history. When they "teach Trump" in 30 or 100 years they will say "Historians say he was the worse POTUS ever - here's is why they say that"....or the like.
Now....in a private school or home school they'll have different books.
