Yes, that goal is to establish LONG TERM use and exploration AND to prep for Mars 'eventually'... That is what the idiot said when he signed the directive.. Now, three weeks after last promoting HIS plan, he doesn't want them spending time exploring and establishing?
Going to Mars is truly a waste of money. Humans won't ever live on Mars, other than a few potential astronauts getting there before they die there. Not sure why Trump thinks Mars is a good idea to spend money on.
It's not. It's a dead planet with an unbreathable atmosphere and very far away by today's technology. It's feel-good propaganda by the science community and govt.

I thought some said the moon would be the base for going to Mars. Perhaps that's was on Trump's mind as he tweeted.
