It really comes down to how you vote. Are you going to support people’s freedom or continue to be their overlord telling people what to do?

Huh? So we only regulate legalize human behavior as long as we can use surveillance to monitor it?

No you can go into probably every American city and find cheap hookers today. Just because prostitution is illegal in most places does not mean its not going on all the time.

lol Seriously? So because you have been going back and forth with me and think my assumptions are wrong, you are "spot on"? Funny because from MY angle, you have no idea what you're talking about. Funny how that works.

I am well aware that some prostitutes really do choose it and do pretty good. But this is not the norm. I am far more concerned about the many women who are not that fortunate.

The cities aren't sprawling urban hells in Europe. How do you regulate human behavior when the Atlanta metro is as big as the whole province of Hessen in Germany? We have warehouses in the big cities (ie Houston) that are bigger than small towns in Europe.

Nobody is trying to change your mind.

Sex has been a commodity ever since the dawn of humankind, probably even before.

All I am saying is live and let live.

Whether something is bad for some group as a whole is not up to us to decide. Let each individual make their own decisions.
Trafficking is not voluntary ever. It is inherently coercive. People who are trafficked, no matter the purpose - sex, other labor - are put into vulnerable positions, put into danger, and exploited.

I really can't believe you even made that statement. This destroys your credibility on the issue.

If you follow my posting history, I have lots of personal real life experience in this area... not as a customer but as a person in their real lives. These are regular normal people for the most part... with the same problems as anyone else. You've probably interacted with them on the daily... and didn't know.

Your assumptions are wrong when applied to the general population... because not everyone working sex is a drug addicted, streetwalker, under the control of a pimp.

You get to have an opinion and define what is normal... but you don't get to impose that on others.

I respect your opinion. And in a perfect world prostitution would not exist. I would argue that overall women will be in a better situation with it legal than how it is now. Not every single woman but a majority. Not perfect by any means but better. You seem to agree with that. So I don't get what point you are trying to make.

What realistic solution outside of legalization do you have?

I never said all prostitutes are any of those things. I 100% stand by the statement that for most women it is not truly voluntary and they are desperate and that it is not something most women aspire to do, even in the best circumstances.

I also have experience working in sex crimes in general. Including prostitution and trafficking. And studying it from a legal aspect.
