If a baker can refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay/lesbian couple, A black customer can fire a contractor for flying a confederate flag, the symbol of nationalised black slavery, to the job.
The door swings both ways.
THat's the saddest part, is that people are judging a book by it's cover. The truck could have even been a loan from someone else for all we know. The guy could have been the nicest guy in the world. Or, if he was racist, the family could have shown compassion and love and make him realize that he is wrong for his racism, and maybe they could have made a new friend. But instead, they decide to jump on that "white man bad" bandwagon the first chance they get.
Jump on a bandwagon? Did you watch the video?
They were very polite. Said he was free to believe what he wanted to believe and didn't need to take the flag down but that they would not be using his services.
There shouldn’t be outrage over either. The contractor has a right to put whatever flag they want on their truck and the customer has a right to refuse to do business with them because that speech offends them.

But the courts ruled a Baker can't do that. Remember?
Having Confederate sympathies on your own time is one thing. Flying a Confederate battle flag on your business truck is asinine. If nothing else it evinces a serious lack of judgment.
I just don't understand why businesses willingly wade into the culture war. Even major corporations now do it regularly, and it's exhausting. Just sell us the stuff or services we want and let us fight the culture wars in a time and place of our choosing. We don't want to resort to screening every one of our consumer transactions for its social or political implications.

Meh. Opens the door to discriminate against anyone you like for a political stance. I wouldn't choose to give business to someone with a coexist sticker, a Clinton one (or old Obama/Biden one) or a rainbow flag.

And you’d be entirely within your rights to do so...as was this family.
