Trump criticized Baltimore. Democrats call Trump's comments racist (again), but ignore the terrible job Democrats are doing in cities like Baltimore.

The Tragedy of Baltimore

Since Freddie Gray’s death in 2015, violent crime has spiked to levels unseen for a quarter century. Inside the crackup of an American city.

No politician can say anything negative about minority communities in America no matter how bad the situation is in them.

This is simply political correctness and it has to stop.

Anyone who has lived here knows that statement is 100% accurate.

Actually they should as long as they also use same words for same problems in non minority communities.

This is where I see the problem. Every time he uses words like **** hole etc is exclusively for minorities, let me know when he uses one on a community that is not full of minorities

Do you live in Baltimore? A poster here who lives in a fairly affluent section of Baltimore, and has lived in Baltimore for 20 years, and is going to move in the near future, agrees with Trump's assessment of the city. That's good enough for me.

I don't like the term "whataboutism" but it seems to me that's what you are trying to do here by suggesting "But what about the 3 out of the 50 cities that are rat infested and not run by democrats?"

Democrat-run cities are in decline and have been for some time. It's not racist to point that out, even if the worst areas are predominantly black areas. The problem is either the behaviors of people who live there, or the inaction of pols, or both.

Too bad about Baltimore.

Not true.

You have to understand context.

If Trump had not been trying to attack someone who criticized his policy, and instead was expressing concern for the residents of those Baltimore communities and why can't we focus on improving their quality of life.....there would have been no public outcry.

You know in your head that Trump's intentions were not well meaning.

He had no concern for that community.

He wants Cummings to go back to his crime and rat infested community....oh yeah and fix it.........before he comes back to Washington DC to represent the community.

Yep. Freddie Gray was the catalyst, and the Mayors since have told the police to stand down and let them loot as it is only property. Now the police are afraid to act for fear of being called racist and losing their jobs. Even the Black cops.

Even if Trump's comments weren't racist, they were inappropriate.

Debate policy.

Trump can't do that.

If it isn't some rally chant....forget it.

The spin now to address problems in urban centers is an attempt to deflect..and it will work for the base and Fox News fans but it won't work for people who are looking to Trump to be the President of all the states...not just the communities and states that like him.
