The Greeks, Egyptians, Romans, and some others had advanced civilization way before the Europeans. Although the Romans were European, but their empire extended to the known world at the time.
You don't think of the Greeks as European!? I don't know when the modern boundaries of Europe were first 'drawn' but ancient Greece was the first European superstate and that was a lot longer than 500 years ago!
The races of the world evolved separate and apart over tens of thousands of years. This is why whites and Asians are more advanced (harsh northern climates breeds discipline and inteligence) while blacks and browns are not (food literally falls off trees in their homelands).
What ever the Europeans were doing to grow in knowledge etc and advance the world, several idiots came out of that and made a mess - such as Mussolini. C Marx, Hitler, and maybe some I missed. The bureaucracy is insane. The state is more important than its people and England and Rome love to commit genocides like in Africa and India. I’m not sure got too much to brag about
You do realize committing genocide is not exclusive to white Europeans, right?
Attempted and actual genocides have been going on in Africa forever, even as recently the 1990's (that we even hear about).
The same is true in the orient where some of the worst massacres such as what Pol Pot did. So it is not the race that matters as much as it is the radical ideology that spawns it. In almost every case it has been socialism/communism that leads to it.
As to white supremacy in general, in the public lexicon, it means something sinister because the average white supremacist is an idiot fueled by hate, yet thinks of himself as part of the "superior" white Eurocentric culture.
In reality skinheads and Klan members are intellectually inferior to the collective people they claim to be a part of, based on nothing more than skin color.
If they were to try and hold an intelligent conversation with say Dr. Ben Carson, they would be severely outmatched, and only his civility would keep them talking for a few minutes.

Yup. There are reason why there were folks from supposedly advanced European civilization were leaving their ****hole countries, to paraphrase a present day phrase. Wars, poverty, famine, political unrest, persecution.
This is probably too complicated of a question with the answers buried in time for anyone to really answer.
I personally think Europeans have long been highly intelligent, and just as importantly creative and inquisitive. Their rise was probably a lot longer than the past 500 years in the making and their circumstances held it back.
I'm more fascinated or interested in the dismantling of the European people's fortunes and culture since about 1915 but especially since the 1940s. Europeans seem to be perpetually saddled with bad leadership and detrimental characters within their mix.
Isn't that the truth! In short: Joseph McCarthy was right - communists have completely taken over and are in the process of genocide.

If this is true why did it take Europeans so long to become civilized? The Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Chinese and Indians were creating advanced civilizations for thousands of years before any semblance of advanced civilization ever showed up in Europe.
