Some of the responses that I'm reading here only reinforces to me that Illinois is right to do what its doing. When people still have a problem that a state "dares" to teach inclusivity and tolerance, that's a problem.

I fight for and defend people's right to believe and hold true to what they want to. And I fight against government mandating how people think or feel. But, as I've mentioned before, this is nothing of the sort.

I have a problem with people's tax dollars being used to advance a POLTICAL agenda like LGBT normalization, especially to IMPRESSIONABLE children.

How about we let the NRA in to talk about Gun Safety? Oh, but that would actually be practical and helpful, and could save lives. Can't have that!

LESBIAN astronaut sally ride.

And of course it does not matter. As long as her partners are sane adult willing humans, it is none of my business.

It's none of our business until it is our business.

And it's my business when they propose to get their freak on in front of my kids.

Wake up, sheeple.

It matters a lot since so many people feel a great deal of hatred and resentment against homosexuals, due to the highly offensive nature of their sex acts, and want the right to discriminate against them once they are discovered. To them, homosexuals might as will be regarded as 2nd or 3rd class citizens. Conservative Christian right opposition against them doesn't help matters. I would hope the majority of straights have a live and let live approach to people who aren't straight.

Ruling caste cares not about sexuality of gender neutral drones (unless it is toxic musculinity of course) and neither should drones pay any discriminate attention to who's pulling the wagon next to them.

All the problems in Illinois and this is what they pass laws for?????
Why not just treat all people (including LGBTQ) like people? If there is a curriculum for them, then why isn’t there one for every unique group?!! This doesn’t make sense to have this as some special curriculum! Just treat all people with respect.

LGBT is normal. And LGBT people--Americans or otherwise--aren't going away. They've always been here and always will. It was a shame that we treated them differently in the past (and some still do or want to). This curriculum change will, hopefully, go a long way to changing the hearts and minds of the future generation.

Last time I checked there were 37 genders academia came up with (per recent liberal arts graduate I'm acquainted with). A properly educated person should know and accept them all. Straight, gay, lesbian is so 19th century. Our education system failed us again.
