Yet, Trump continues to say the economy is strong and Fed Chairman Powell says the Fed is not making a recession call.

Maybe people just don't have to drive trucks anymore. Maybe there are now plenty of other things that they can do.
The economy is fine. Wages are up.

You guys really want to hate on Trump like he's your main concern, huh? I am starting to think you guys are more obsessed with him than Trump fans themselves

If you look at the chart 2018 was gangbusters for trucks while 2019 looked similar but lower to all the previous years... But whatever right, you got your I hate Trump propaganda out anyways...

Did you even read the article? Do you know what a Class 8 truck is? Your comment shows you didn't even understand what is being talked about.

You don't seem to understand the market segment dynamic at play here.

Commercial vehicle sales down means less commerce. Pick-up truck sales up means people are just buying trucks instead of cars.

One is a depleting of segment whereas the other is a mere shifting of segment.

Anything to do with commerce such as major freight transportation diminishment is a sign the economy is contracting. Ignore the signs all you like, it's still happening.

The Volvo truck plant a friend of mine works at in Virginia has a two year backlog, and seeing record orders.

But, yeah, let's all hope the economy tanks, because, ya know, Trump.
