Libertarians are nothing if not inconsistent. I know a few who - not kidding - are into the "bad bad state" for vast sums. One is well over a million in. The other about 500K, but there is still more time for both to run up the bills.
But I am 100% certain they would get on here and preach right along with other "libertarians".....
You permit taxation by living in a jurisdiction and not voting for a representative who will not tax you.
So government is voluntarily? And what does a jurisdiction have to do with anything? Aren't jurisdictions just corporate-monopolies? With the biggest corporate-monopoly being the Federal government? And isn't it the Federal government which levies the majority of the taxes?
Does the fact that a majority of people within some lines on a map support taking from one person to give to another, make it no longer theft? Crime is no longer crime as long as 51% agree with it?
The people in this thread are obsessed with performing some mental-gymnastics to prove that taxation isn't theft. But why does it matter if it is theft?
All you had to say is that having a government is better than not having a government. And governments cannot depend on voluntary support.
