If you are concerned about deaths, then you should have equal or greater concern for those other deaths. On the other hand, I suspect perusing this board for other posts by you would find no outrage about myriad other causes of death, only for those brought about by guns.
Your concern about guns is misplaced. There are relatively few deaths by gun that are problematic. Most gun deaths are suicides and I for one believe every person has the right to check themselves out when they want.
Many of the other deaths are accidental, justifiable homicides by police and civilians and the small remainder are the only genuine murders. Eliminate gang activity and drugs and the number of of murders would shrink to negligible.
The fact is, too often, people who espouse your viewpoint simply hate guns for no rational reason, just because they’ve allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the rabidly anti-gun to believe there’s some sort of problem when, in fact, there is not.
Boom. Great post. You can bet the OP is all about abortion but their *religion* about suicide is strong indeed. They have zero moral or logical compass....just whatever they're told to think politically.
Yeah, we all know the type. They grew up in the burbs, live in nice areas, if not gated communities and utterly lack the diversity of experience of those living in poorer\rougher areas.
They then roll in from the safety of their mostly crime free lives and pontificate about how everyone else should live their lives outside of the ivory tower.
Those are all gang related shootings and I would guess every single gun involved was not purchased legally. We DO have a problem with some liberal cities not handling their gang issues. Innocent people in the vicinity are losing their lives.
Most likely any officers who go door to door to confiscate guns in these neighborhoods will be executed by the criminals. It is sad that you want the innocent citizens in the neighborhood to have no way to protect themselves from these animals.
Major cities in the US learned long ago the following:
1) There is no other party, so oligarchy for the win!
2) blacks and other poorer minorities don't have as much money to donate to campaigns and also will already vote for them. Thus, ignore them beyond lip service.
3) Given police shootings or high murder rates, you just have to hold a peace march and maybe pay Al Sharpton 500k or so for absolution. Hell, Chicago had Laquan McDonald and most people never heard of him...but they sure heard about Michael Brown. Not only that, the city got caught trying to hide the situation by the media and paying off the family. ONLY after it was revealed was the officer charged.
After finding lots of people lied and were involved in the cover-up, only the officer pulling the trigger was convicted. Everyone else got off scott free.
Boom. Tells you everything you need to know. You can pump 16 shots into an unarmed black kid, lie about it, get caught buying off the family and NOBODY other than the cop that pulled the trigger gets in trouble.
Woot woot! Thank god Chicago is progressive and cares about minorities!
The left seems to believe if you just outlaw something = problem solved. Nope. Murder is universally bad, so we outlawed that thousands of years ago. You may have noticed, It's never about the means, but the intent.
You have yet to explain how laws will keep guns out of the hands of criminals since no prohibition laws have ever been successful in the US.
If good guys with guns are no match against bad guys with guns, good guys with guns will certainly be no match against a government that uses WMDs! Let that sink in.

I had already posted this elsewhere here.
“Here’s some info on your chances.
There are roughly 32,000 deaths a year is the US and declining
Of the approximately 32, 000 annual gun deaths...
3% are accidentals = 960
4% are justifiable homicide = 1,280
33% are homicides =10,560
60% are suicides = 19,200
80% of of the above homicides are gang related = 8,448
So 2,112 in a society of 312 million people are actual gun murders.
In other words you have about a 0.00010256410256 chance of being killed by someone using a gun. If you don’t belong to a gang, and are not planning on committing suicide or committing a crime you chances of dying by a gun are about 0.000009846153846.”
Thank you for those statistics. We definitely have a gun violence problem in the US!

Have you seen the stats on car violence? I guess you want to ban cars as well?
