And I would add that if the weapon that is used is the "ASSAULT WEAPON" "THE DREADED and EVIL AR15" then that is all over the news but if the guy used a cheap handgun which accounts for most of the murders by gun they media is silent on it.



The slam dunk homerun for the media would be if a white Trump supporting, NRA member, wife beating, racist, homophobic Hitler wanna be nazi white supremacist that hates Muslims, Jews. Pelosi Obama and everyone else that is not a white christian nationalist cross burner and the Left wing media at large used an assault weapon that was modified illegally for true automatic action and he murdered 100 "migrant" children dreamers before Trumps Goons the ICE Gestapo could do it...

I believe the FBI uses a definition of 4 or more shootings in a single incident to classify a mass shooting. I see that it classified the Midland- Odessa incident as as mobile mass shooting.

A few years back there was a mass shooting at a memorial service in Chicago. It received a lot of local media attention. Then the local alderman announced “ no innocents had been shot”.

The service was a street memorial for a slain gang member, flying gang colors. His gang posted a challenge on social media. And no surprise, a rival gang burst out of an alley, guns blazing.

Then there was the incident of a 14 year old girl who walked up and opened fire on people sitting on a porch. Another girl said some nasty things about her on social media. Her uncle, a gang member, recently released from prison, gave her a hand gun so she could take revenge and she did.

Another gem was prompted by social media nonsense, one woman to another. It escalated. Both women brought their female friends, hand guns and box cutters to the street fight. Most of the women were in their 30’s and also brought their kids along to show them how to deal with people who disrespect them.

So they go at each other with box cutters and gun fire erupted in the middle of the street in the middle of the day. One woman jumped into her car and rammed another into a tree. For good measure, she backed up and accelerated into the woman again. Then she abandoned the car and took off on foot.

Despite all these women knew each other and the driver, no one knew anything.

These incidents typically involve a very small percentage of the populations that live in these gang infested neighborhoods. Most of Chicago’s loss of population is attributed to people fleeing this culture in these communities.

And only 5 neighborhoods in Chicago have the shootings. The same in KC and St Louis, only a few areas have almost all shootings.

Whatever -- you can't discuss an issue with people who change the goal posts so that they can support their emotional responses to an issue.

The majority of shootings in Chicago are gang related. They aren't what we traditionally think of as a 'mass shooter' -- you know that guy who shows up at a concert and randomly shoots at the audience. Not because it was a bad drug deal, not because they stole money from him.

If you lump the two gang memb ers shooting themselves as a Mass shooter than you are also addressing all those white men who kill their wives, kids and themselves in a murder suicide......

MEH -- that may skew your stats though right...can't have that.

So a murder suicide is not a mass shooting but a gang related shooting is.?

The more white men kill randomly, the more the right seems to want to identify all shootings as mass shootings so they can pull in other groups and skew their stats.
