My friend if asked the question would be "my child" because one night in their rural area a career felon tried to break in and rape\rob\assault them with their young child home. Without a gun to defend themselves, police were 30+ minutes away.
The OP, and other posters, utter lack of diversity and ability to think of anyone living a different life than their own is the real problem.
Rich people, living in very safe areas with police 2 minutes away, not grasping how people live in the rest of the country. Such ignorance and again, utter lack of appreciation for diversity in all it's forms.
But hey, they need a scapegoat for 75% of the murder rate that happens in urban areas and disproportionately to minorities because of economics. Low paying jobs, lack of opportunity. Their solution? Allow millions of illegal workers to help keep such jobs low paying while blaming the problem all on everybody else.
Go back and read the OP post again. Note I did not ask who needs to die before you would fight for gun bans. Rather I wrote, "GUN CONTROL."
I wouldn't advocate for an ill-conceived abrogation of fundamental rights regardless. The OP's attempt to evoke an emotional response to the prospect of personal tragedy so-as to garner support for bad legislation is something I find decidedly more frightening than the statistical rarity of a lunatic wielding a semi-automatic firearm.
