Thats what is being fought against.
A polarizing issue always attracts a contingent of zealots and over-simplifiers; but the basic nature of the audience makes this tactic far more attractive to the Left who, as a whole, are younger and more prone to emotionalism. ("Waddabout da polar bearth, Daddy?")

In this instance it was the zealots of the Looney Right who got caught with their pants down:

They figure we will forget when that time passes and nothing happens. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Nature will adapt as it always has throughout history. Dying coral isn’t Armageddon or the end of the world.

With natural climate change, life has a chance to adapt. Climate change that happens faster because it’s accelerated, life cant adapt and animals die off and thats what is happening..

Life cannot adapt if its dying in massive amounts..

Because it gives them enough time to change their minds, move the goalposts and cite advances in science for their "miscalculations".

Or, if they happen to gain power and get some of their ludicrous ideas passed into law, they can stand there in the non-Armageddon future and say "see, we saved the planet"!

Then I see the news covering kids protesting. What do kids know? They know what they are told by adults and know nothing about life, science, and politics. Are kids supposed to convince me of something or touch my heart?
I’m 51 and I’m betting it won’t happen in my lifetime maybe the next generation it will but the point is to get ahead of it. Don’t listen to these fathead politicians who say we have X number of years, no one really knows.

It's funny how it works. You make a change and don't hit the ice burg because you diverted course then you get spat on by folks saying "see? there was no ice burg "..
Ya, your bleepin' welcome..?

Yes given enough time new things evolve. But that is 1000's of years. Evolution works slowly. I want to enjoy the life that we have here now and not see it all die off.
